It is $272.95 on Amazon.com for new. Not sure if this is a good deal. Any ideas? http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iPod-touch-32GB-Generation/dp/B001FA1O18

$20 more on apple.com gets you an Apple-refurbished version of the exact same item, with a new case, new battery, and full 1-year warranty from Apple.

That's worth $20.

Crap how many do they have in the back room, lol...

Refurbs are tested thoroughly - not just popped off the assembly line. I prefer them for Apple items.

That's true for official Apple-refurbished items, which these are not.

These aren't refurbed by Apple, these have 90 Woot warranty, which means they are refurbed by a 3rd party, probably the kids on kids.woot.

Buyer beware... I've bough two of these 32gb iPod Touches from Woot. Both had to go back because of battery issues. I don't think they are getting the highest quality refurbs... it also took me more than a month to get the money reposted to my credit card. Combine low quality with a non-competitive price... you've been warned.

Good morning folks. So what do we got here, a 1-dayer? 2-dayer? Hopefully not a 3-dayer, right? How many waves of buckets of capers we looking at here?

With the advances Smart Phones are making and the streaming applications we are seeing pop up it really is just a matter of time before music players become a novelty.

Did the price of this thing just drop mid-woot, or is my browser playing tricks on me?

Price just dropped $15. Still. do. not. want.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

Question: is Woot selling inventory from the Amazon stocks?

Like the headphones that were just offered here, for example... the quantity available from sellers on Amazon dropped quite significantly while they were being offered for more $$$ here on Woot.

outdoorslife

quality posts: 8 Private Messages outdoorslife

On top of which apple offers free shipping and the Square trade warranty is $37.99 so it makes it MORE than the apple refurb item.

woot: $229.99 + $5 + $37.99 = 272.98
woot attempt to look good: $214.99 + $5 +37.99 = $257.98

apple $249.00

WOW what a deal from woot. Yea, thats sarcasm. Since woot got bought by amazon their deal pricing has fizzled. Amazon must be trying to wring every penny out of woot with these so called deals.

Drop the price to $179 and its a woot-able deal.

Edit: with the new price drop to $214.99 , comparison adjusted

You could just have said "it is from apple" and express exactly the same in fewer words.

I don't think the headphones that come with this are compatible with my other apple products. Every time I try to push them in it gets juice everywhere and they get all sticky.

No one cares how many barges of crude you've purchased, or which woots you've wooted.

Hey Thunder Thighs... thanks for the price reduction, but I'm still passing. I have the bitter sting of two failed iPod's and an empty $35 Otter Box iPod Touch case from my trouble. Do you want to buy an Otter Box case?

But it's still entirely possible that you share some of the same vendors with Amazon.

What I learned from what video is where the crap comes from!

Also Jelly of that office.

Woot, I love you, but can you please stop with the iPod Touches? It seems every woot-off we have at least 3-4. In fact there is one on Sellout right now!

I'm not asking for much, just please get some different MP3 players at least.

Three woot-offs? Come on, woot. I got stuff to do today!

And kudos for the price drop. Where else would you get that kind of immediate response to anything?

Except when my Apple refurb bricked I took it to the Apple store and in 5 minutes I had a new one. Two iPads and three iPods later they are all working great.

Beats the price and no hassle if a problem. What's up next?

Cheers

Well, I didn't jump on this deal but I got the refurbished 8GB version from Sellout. I was waiting for the price to come down so I could get one for my in laws. They've been playing music and taking photos/videos with an 8 year old Nokia phone, that wasn't even top of the line 8 years ago. Getting this will be like upgrading from a portable black and white TV to a 40" Panasonic Plasma HDTV.

A proper anecdote, but more like a side note here. The iPod touch is capable of all that when it's on a wifi network, so it's hardly just a music player. It's more like a handheld wifi web/email/image capture/media streaming platform. In fact it's said to be one of the most popular mobile gaming platforms as well.

As for the novelty music players you mentioned, you know what we haven't seen much of lately is those Sansas...

Yes there is an 8GB refurb on Sellout Woot for 145.99. I bought a 32GB Ipod Touch from Woot in January, and al is well with it. Thanks Woot.

The iPod Touch is a great device when it works! It has all of the functionality of the iPad. You can even make phone calls on it with the Vonage app.

So... this is absolutely NOT a jazzy music player. The problem with the iPod and Woot is quality. Whoever is doing the refurbs for Woot should be fired IMMEDIATELY. Cheap doesn't have to mean sacraficing quality.

Your make a very valid point, but a phone can do all of that too, in fact an iPhone is an iPod touch that can make phone calls and send text messages. Why would you need both?

Speaking of Sansas I have one sitting in my laptop bag that I don't think I've taken out in almost two years. If i'm not streaming music on my laptop then I just sync some music down from Google Music on my phone and listen to that.
