I asked them not to open the box, but the second I got back and opened the box I had to give up a few as down payment once they realized what they were

My supper boiled over while I was wondering if I should buy these or not.... then again, 3 kids selling 52 candy bars each... do I really need more chocolate??

Hmmm, they're only 60 calories per piece. As for self control, YMMV.

Based on the voluminous positive feedback previously, in for one.

So with 2 pieces per serving, 28 servings per box...and the box costs $28...that's $1.00 a serving or 50 cents per piece of chocolate.

But the real question is...do I really need that much chocolate?

Any trepidations about shipping? Hate for Mom to receive a box of chocolate-caramel soup. Or, wait, maybe that'd be awesome...

You will wish you had bought three once you try these.

I agree with other posters the Dark with a DEEP Cab...outstanding.

I'm so torn!! I have wanted these badly each time they popped up but fear that much chocolate being around the house. I have absolutely no self-control...

I don't care for dark chocolate that much but after reading most of the comments I'm in for a box. Sounds like something I really should not pass up.

Buy these and eat them! I like dark chocolate better than milk, but these milk chocolates aren't overly sweet.

atucny wrote:I'm sorry but I do not get the price on these. you can buy nice chocolates for ten at whole foods, trader joes, etc

Yeah, it's a good observation. In fairness, I did order a box for V-day this year, and they are very good. The chocolate and sea salt are suprisingly complementary, and the caramel extends the sweetness while also making it substantial and filling. I really did enjoy 1-2 per serving.

Also, the box is quite large. It's a lot of chocolate. A box of See's Truffles of comparable size would be far more than $28 (the all-in price, incl shipping).

Finally, there's an element of uniqueness. If you're giving as a gift, there might be some value for giving a smartly put together box of unusual chocolates (vis-a-vis a Trader Joe's brand package).

I hear what you're saying, and none of those things may have significance with respect to your preferences. To me, it's probably akin to the premium for a Ralph Lauren Polo, polo shirt versus a regular store-brand polo shirt. They're both polo shirts, and the both get stained, or torn equally easy. To me, the fashion premium is lost on me, and the quality premium is only slightly compelling.

Got these last time based on many glowing recomendations. What a disappointment! Folks, these are NOT salt caramels. They are regular caramels, dipped in chocolate, with some salt sprinkled on top. The caramel itself is fair at best. If you have ever had true salt caramels, you will immediately tell the difference. The only Woot purchase I regret. Don't waste your money.

Love love love these caramels! I actually prefer the milk chocolate to the dark. I was good and only got 1 box this time.

Bought these last time and while the chocolates were excellent, OI was disappointed that it was one box of dark and milk chocolates. not TWO boxes (one dark, one milk). And yes I know it says that clearly in the description and i cannot read.

I had just had wanted to keep one box for myself and gift the other box. This way i had to eat the whole box by myself. Boo hoo.

Times 2 - you undercounted. 28 pieces of dark, and 28 of milk chocolate. Total of 56 pieces.

It is a lot of chocolate. But, oh so good!

The distinction is important if that's the expectation. However, I would also direct attention to the copious commentary here, affirming the highly favorable experience of eating these chocolates - my experience, included.

Perhaps not salt caramels (frankly, I don't know the difference), but as said, "... a rose by any other name does smell as sweet ..."

The boyfriend was sitting on his computer and me on mine. He said, "they have the Fleur de Sel chocolates on the Woot off!". I then asked if wanted to get them. He stuck is bottom lip out in the saddest way positive and said, "No. I don't need them." Just got done ordering them for him. Shhhh... don't tell him!!!

Don't these ever change in price? A quick google search finds that this is at least the third time woot has sold these for this price.
