I got one a couple years ago to "borrow" my neighbor's internet. I paid 30, and it solved all my borrowing needs.

Even better at this price.

So this means I can leave my computer on the desk and watch things on my TV from my computer?

Got one on the last Wootoff. Using it on a laptop where the wireless died on it. Works great. Just remember to get latest drivers from website to make it stable.

I have the wireless b/g version of this and it is very awesome. If this is anything like mine, its a great deal. The range on mine is crazy good, and the speed is great. Very easy interface also.

Wish I understood what this does.

I have a sling video so I guess this does the same thing?

I say, my friends!
Buy an Adapter!
They're good, you see,
Just ask the raptor

It hides and waits
while its fury un-furls
then muldoon says
. . . clever girl

it gives you access
to wireless N
if you've bought one
buy it again!

But what can you use it for? Does it transmit from a laptop or does it allow non wireless devices to just get your wireless router access?

I bought one, always wanted to try the 5GHz that my router puts out.

First purchase thus far for this woot-off.

I use it on my desktop for gaming, movies and other random internet junk. I also leave it on and use that PC as a media pc . I can access my movies from anywhere in the house.

This is a Wireless USB device. for those of you asking. It allows a device to connect to your wireless router.

Looks like a good deal, needed one, ...and helps the wootoff move on.

So, is this more powerful than the b/g/n wireless adapter in my notebook? Can this be used instead of that?

jbruder

quality posts: 0 Private Messages jbruder

This is just a wi-fi adapter for computers without one. It's fast, so if you want to watch netflix instant in HD on your computer (and the rest of the route is fast) it won't lag. That's why they talk about video. That, and some computers only have the older, slower 802.11g wireless standard.

So if I get Netflix will I need this to be able to check e-mail on my laptop or iPad while I'm watching a movie?

Thanks, I nabbed one. So what do you use to watch or listen to your media away from your PC?

Can I ride to my local theater to watch movies on this while someone else reads my email?

First successful purchase on woot! for me, too. I've been in the market for a cheap adapter so this was oh-so-convenient haha.
