I own one of these.

The iPhone controls are laggy and sometimes oversensitive.

I like it as a goof in the office, but I rarely use it for fear of destroying it after a rough landing.

The thing is rather sturdy, though.

Where's the Android version? We're good wooters,too.

Got one of these for my dad for his birthday. We all agreed it was easier to fly than a very similar copter that had a traditional RC controller.

Can you use that IR emitter for more than just the copter?

Don't buy this...if you want an iPhone/Android controlled HC get the Syma model. You'll be happier because you'll be able to buy replacement parts.

The Syma parts are close to this, but not exact. World Tech Toys does not make replacment parts available

I highly doubt it but if their was 1 I would probably buy it because it's actually a pretty cheap little rc helicopter.

No Android support?

Means no sale. How can tech companies really cater to only partial percentages of a given market and expect to stay successful?

tl:dr = I'm an android user, and disgruntled this doesn't work with my phone.

I got one of these last time. It's a blast - easy to fly and the battery lasts a reasonable amount of time on a charge. I've been able to cobble together Syma parts to fit this (I broke the landing skids in a hard landing). I like it well enough that I'm in for another one.

You know what would be cool? One Woot-Off, the next items are voted on by the message boarders. Give an option of 3 items, whichever is leading after the current item ends gets posted. Of course the Screaming Monkeys and Bags of Crap would be random still.

I don't know... A Choose Your Own Woot-Off?

If it doesn't come with tzatziki, it's not a gyro!

This is piece of crap. I have one and the rotor shaft broke after about 10 minutes of use. Just normal landing impact.

I got seven (!) of these in my Barrel of Crops last Wootoff, and have yet to make one of them work with my phone (Incredible 2). One of the ton of apps on the market should work with this, but I don't think I've found "the one" yet. I can't say if it's the app, my phone, or the IR transmitter that isn't working. But I have checked the transmitter with a camera and didn't see any IR shining from it, so my money's on that.

On the plus side, they make for a nice light show and a veritable desktop squadron. I imagine there's a reason mine were from a Bunnies Ogling Carrots though.

I'm theorizing that the last 1500 Bunnies Ogling Carrots will be on tomorrow to close the W00T-off.

Regrettably I lack the stamina for another day of this.

How much weight do you think it can carry if you bumped up the specs a bit? I see this a fun to mod a tiny wireless camera to it

Typically, one doesn't use the word "impact" with the term "normal landing"

This woot off has been the most depressing woot off ever. I missed the ONE thing I needed, that damn Roomba. *pause* ok, so I guess I don't "need" the Roomba. But you see, sometimes, I get lonely. And sometimes when I am lonely, I eat cookie and leave crumbs. And since I have no one to notice the cookie crumbs, they just sit there, collecting dust. So, if I had the Roomba I would have a companion AND someone to pick up the dust. Plus, since I would have a friend, I wouldn't get lonely and I wouldn't eat cookies . . . I am sure you can all see the cycle. *sigh* Does woot sell lives? Cause I apparently need to get one of those as well.
