I'll be taking a few days to delight my wife by taking her for her favorite form of vacation - a trip through the outlets of Reading and Lancaster PA.
When the lady's happy, everybody's happy.

I'm going to try to take a trip alone again this year (2011, Ukraine; 2010, Scotland). Someplace hiker-y and hilly but with a good balance of city, all windswept inspiring yet with a nice feel of tragically beautiful Romanticism. I have no idea where, though. Maybe somewhere in central/South America or Scandinavia? No clue. Nothing has yet struck me as "aww yeah that's just the place and I can afford it, too!"
Then my mother and I will go somewhere new together in autumn. We've just started brainstorming, though, so we are still at a complete loss for where. We kind of fly by the seat of our pants when it comes to trip planning. *shrugs*
Maybe someone has some suggestions?
I rose in rainy autumn and walked abroad in a shower of all my days.

If driving to a sci-fi/drinking convention ten minutes from my house is a "staycation", then, yes, I'm doing a staycation.
Oh, god, that term...

Off to Prague in early June. A little side trip to Vienna for a couple of days. Might have to take in some theater.

Staycation ... I despise both the idea and the 'word.'

And right now.
