It doesn't have speakers either. But you can get the same digital signal with a $4 DVI to HDMI cable.

This has DVI! It works just as well -- buy a cheap DVI to HDMI cable or converter and you're good to go.

Why do I have to go buy something else? My other monitors that I use on my computers have the HDMI connection.

Converting from HDMI to DVI is simple. Here's a converter for only $2.49, eligible for free s/h. The two ports are electrically identical.

This is not a great deal because the 22" version, which is identical in every other way, was only $99 all day yesterday on sellout.woot.

Agreed. 16x10 is really better. Those extra 120 pixels make a surprising difference in many applications.

Yeah, but then people who need DVI would complain and fact is, DVI is more popular in the computer world than HDMI (which is used more in home entertainment). This is a computer monitor, not a TV so they went for DVI. Those who need HDMI can simply can a small converter which costs $2.49 on Amazon, and less than $2 on ebay. People can go on complaining ad infinitum about missing ports, i.e. composite, component, SVHS, optical, coaxial, etc but that is ignoring the fact that this is a computer monitor.

It's not unheard of to buy a cable when you buy a monitor. Like a lot of monitors, this one comes with a standard VGA cable. It probably wouldn't have come with an HDMI cable even if it had the input.

Yay, somebody on these forums did their homework!

If I didn't already have a nice 23" monitor, and had the desk space TO run double, I'd spring for this thing. ._.

Notable Woots:
1 Samsung Modus Bluetooth Headset Kit, 2 MuzxDNA Earphones (one lost, one destroyed) superceded by 2 MEElectronics M16 Earphones, 2 Phantom S107's, 1 Art101 124-piece art set, iGo rechargable battery set, way more Fuji batteries than I immediately know what to do with, 1 Dell Streak 7" Tablet
1 Big Old Chevy dated 3/22/2011, #4 of the night (!).
1 Bundle of Caravans dated 4/25/2011

I'm not sure I understand your question but there is no rave. The converter doesn't improve or change the signal, merely reroute it so it deserves no rave.

Then use one of the cables you already have. It keeps the cost down if they don't include a cable that everybody has at this point.

My dell desktop monitor came with the HDMI cables. I know you can convert DVI to HDMI. I was just pointing out that this did not have the straight HDMI connection like some other monitors I have at home. Just trying to make people aware!
