This is pretty much the computer I'm using right at this moment, and I've been entirely pleased with it. It's a 17", so it's kinda big and heavy, but the screen size is worth it for me.

I'd get one, but it's got Blu-Ray. Yuck!

Wow a $600 coffee pot , a $450 sub-par laptop ,and a 720p television ( which is ok for some , but i have promised myself to never buy another screen that will not function properly as a monior) , I think woot decided that they hate us and don't want to sell any more stuff.

At the rate that this thing is selling, look for this Woot-off to run to a 4th day, before we get to buy the Flying Monkey.

I have the slightly upgraded version of this machine (also purchased from Woot) that was $50 more last year. Mine has 2.2ghz and a 9-cell battery, same HD capacity but 2gb less RAM. It is used several hours daily and overall is a good performer. The machine does get hot running online games and I wouldn't recommend it for a gaming machine... I don't think it would hold up. For an around-the-house general performer, it works well. Blu-ray is nice and I hooked up to my TV for that purpose until I got my PS3. Cons: touchpad is finicky and activates weird features when it's bumped while typing sometimes. Integrated speakers are pretty crappy as most laptops, but running through TV/stereo/headphones and you won't notice anyway. Neither one is a dealbreaker (for me) if you're looking for a decent 17" laptop.

Checking out the woot hype...have questions. Isn't it one woot a day? When there's lots of woots like today, does it go from lowest-priced stuff to expensive or is it just random wooting?

The woot model has DD3 too and is new. The newegg is a refurb.

When items like this pop up the woot map of the US becomes the perfect map of fools... after all a fool and his money are soon parted.

And sadly there are more fools in my state than I expected.... really surprised California appears to be fool free.

I gave my wife,a HP 17inch about four years ago,and it still runs find,and does not over heat.Not sure of the model,I think like a G7.Its old my the standards now,but I put Windows 7 on it,and it keeps on ticking,like a Timex watch LOL.
