Simmp5 wrote:thanks. Good to know was thinking about getting these, but if I can't have one pair of headsets for both my systems, then whats the point.
There are several models of headsets that work with both. Turtle beach has a few, so does tritton. I think best buy also has there rocketfish brand that works with both. As i mentiined before, if the chat isn't necessary for you and you only need the audio, you can use these with a ps3.
Maybe I should order these then tell my wife I had to buy an Xbox to go with them. Fool proof, right?
Looking for the Razer Characias. Cmon woot!

I would just get the Xbox... She will get over it eventually.
Great, now I can hear the 13 year olds screaming about sleeping with my mom and calling me names even better!

Those are not the new version of these headphones.
Does not include the digital...box...thingy. Which, I've heard, is worth at least $50 on it's own. Haven't priced them myself.
Am I the only 1 that knows you can buy the ear force x11 at bestbuy for $70 new???
GeneralAnubis wrote:I use the version that replaced these, the X12s, and I've loved every second with them. The X12s can work on Xbox, PS3, and PC, so I'd suggest going for the new version rather than this discontinued one.
Just so no one gets confused, the x12's will not work with ps3 chat. Pretty much any headset can work with both ps3 and xbox for audio, but the chat function is what seperates them. The x12's are designed for xbox.
Actually, to make those match the features of these DX11's, you have to buy an additional in-line Dolby audio processor. Turtle Beach link The DX11's come with that built in. So, $50+$80ish for both, but the DSS isn't necessary to have an awesome experience with the new headset (probably the reason why they split the two apart for the new version).

You're right, I didn't even see.

thank you.
The Woot pages says that this has a "USB Interface." That's not really true--it doesn't actually transmit any data across the USB, it only uses the USB for power. That's not really an interface.

Yeah, I edited my post - sorry about that!

This is a dx11, not x11. The difference is the dx model comes with the DSS surround sound adapter, the x is just stereo.

Ah ok I just remember last time this was on woot the write up said x11 and its the same write up so I guess it was a typo =P but it looks like they fixed it now so that's good.
And the Ear Force DSS Dolby surround decoder that this also comes with sells for an extra $75 so this seems like a pretty good deal.
Now that I am aware of the fact that these are 7.1 instead of 5.1 I would probably buy these if they weren't refurbished =(
Those are for the "X"12's, not the "DX"12's. There is over a 100% difference in price...
