computermd82 wrote:Thanks Woot for a great Woot-Off, I probably bought too much stuff, but hey, some things you just can't live without.. like Woot monkeys.

As other have said, I like the way the Bags of Crap were handled, gave people more than one chance to snag one.

Now i'm off to bed. My wife may think it's over.. but it's not over until the FedEx / USPS guy gives me the evil eye.. and a stack of Woot boxes!

Goodnight Woot!

Congrats!

So, I'll turn out the lights then? Good night, woot. Thanks for the loot and for making my little country postmaster scowl at me on "heavy woot days". (A couple of weeks ago she dropped my box of monkeys and they screamed. She said, "oh, that's where that noise has been coming from." Worth the $11.)

Last night I opened Woot at the right time and there was the monkey being offered. I clicked on the "I Want One" button and I was done. Easy as Pi.

Thanks.

Has there ever been a Bunnies Ogling Carrots on the other woot! sites? Just a thought...

I haven't seen a Bandoleer of Carrots on another Woot.com site, but I did once snag some monkeys from kids.woot.

The Woot! software does some interesting word substitution. If you see something really odd and want to see what the user really typed, hit "reply" and read it in the quoted text. You can cancel the reply if you want.

Here are some words you can test with this technique:

fertilizer! Bunnies Ogling Carrots. Barrel of Crops. What Tiny Flowers? procreate!

Some users (like me) use substitutions from the past, like "Bandoleer of Carrots".

As for the Bag o Crap itself, it's a kind of grab bag woot sells, usually during woot-offs, but on woot's birthday you often have to play a game to get one. It it are three crappy items they had trouble selling and one bag of some kind they also had trouble selling.

Occasionally people get great things in their Bunnies Ogling Carrots, like big screen TVs and several pallets of car wax, but those are rare. Mostly they are prized because they are fairly hard to get.

parrothead71 wrote:Another site had it too, umm X something.. a tech site. called it Barrel of Crops, then I heard from someone they were threatneed with lawsuit form woot. I got it, cost ten bucks, about 10 bucks worth of crap inside, two rolls of a joke toilet paper, laser light, pooh bear flag to hang, a fe wmore things I cant even remember throwing away.

I got a grab bag from GearXS once. It was a lot more expensive than a Bunnies Ogling Carrots and it had very little that I could use. Nintendo DS covers or PS2 game pads and other accessories of that kind are useless without the base product. I used a little flashlight until the light bulb (yes, a bulb!) burned out. It was worth a couple of bucks. I have learned my lesson.

Another woot-off gone by, another monkey missed.

Anyone here have extras and are willing to trade 1 for 1?

Pretty pretty please!
I'll update with what I got
(all my extras are "like new" meaning no tabs pulled and any tags still attached)

Woot, must go back to the old design!!!!!!

The plastic nose can be painful. Besides it looks like a dog snout.

Pinged from Newark NJ, to Fort Worth Texas.

I just got my 3 monkeys. I do not like these new monkeys. They are all blind as the mask doesn't quite fit. My other monkeys will kill these. And the design change may signal the end of my monkey acquisitions.

Well, where to record our Brick of Carbonite contents since there are no blog entries for the Bundles of Clones anymore? And why is that????

Here is what I received on 5/8 from the 4/26 Bundles of Clones

Gwen’s Nest Tote Bag (Made from 80% Post-Consumer Materials)

2 Woot Calendars for 2012

2 packs of 4 AA batteries (well within their use-by date)

1 Bell+Howell Digital Camera with 16 Mb of storage and resolution of 352x288, however, it is small.

1 very nice leather Kindle case that fits my wife’s Kindle and which she snapped right up. It folds to use as a stand and has an elastic strap to help hold it while you read (and she reads voraciously). It’s OK, I have a Nook.

Added later: How could I forget the 4XL T shirt, dark blue, that my wife wants to modify somehow to fit her.

4-count ‘em-4 bags of Texas (?) air that seem to be wasted as a packing material.

Thanks, Woot.

I just learned about these monkeys, and would love a copy of my own. Does anyone know how often they're sold? Is it on certain days, or random, or what? Thanks.

The Brick of Carbonite discussion got pushed off the front page, but you can still get to it by going to "older" entries, or via the direct link above.

The flying monkeys have recently been showing up at the end of a Woot-off (a one or more day event with multiple items available each day until they sell out).

You can also buy the monkeys (without the Woot! branding) by searching for "flingshot monkey").
