Then I have the slow write time compression problem where it's perfectly smooth for a second, then it stutters for a second, and repeat.

I got the class 10 I linked but I can actually only get sustained 5.48MB/s writes. The bit-rate of the videos is 8mbps (1MBps) so it should be enough, but I guess there is no internal buffer so it drops frames or something.

I think I might sell this on ebay and buy a hero2.

Well the post office finally found my package but after doing further research and looking at reviews, I decided to just have it returned to sender so I could just get My money back. I actually went on eBay and got a bundled Hero (not hero2) with 32gb card, 2 batteries, and all kinds of mounts for $200 and I also won a $100 eBay gift card so only paid $100! I was impressed with the quality of the hero more so than the freestyle. Plus the resale value is way better.

I got an RMA 5/3 that said a new one would ship out shortly. 8 days later and no shipping notices...nothing.

Anyone else who got an RMA for a defective unit get their new one shipped out yet?

I hope that all who purchased are contented. I do like the WIDE angle vs the FISHEYE of the gopro I own the hd hero 2.

FOr the price we purchased, you cannot complain. enjoy your cam all,

Swann will allow up to 30 days to return, iffounddefective you will get a swap, do not need to send the whole pkg in , just hte cam itself, like how gopro hasdone with their returns as well.

I bought two. It definitely has a wide angle on it.
One of them wasnt taking snap shots properly, but after a full charge they are both working great and they quality is just what I expected; better than descent..

I read about that and its an SD card problem. There are certain types of cards that make that noise. Read up and find which card works...

Nice to see a quality and trusted company get into this area. By the way, I own 2,and love mine and so do my teenagers.

I agree. I bought two and Im pretty happy with not only the cameras but ALL THE STUFF that came with them. Mounts for days!

Speaking of SDHC cards, is anyone else having trouble inserting them? I cannot get any of three different cards, from two different manufacturers to stay seated, or be recognized by the camera. It looks like it might be a physical card socket problem.
