haydesigner wrote:As the owner of a Kodak P720 in the past, and a Kodak Z990 now, I can tell you that for a "pro-sumer" level camera, their lenses absolutely flat out rock. Seriously, I have gotten pics from these that everyone swear are from DSLRs. Great color and detail levels. Exceedingly happy with both cameras, and the optical zoom is insane (in that you actually need a tripod to use it, since your hands will never hold it that steady at that level of zoom). And now I'm sad again that they are going belly-up :-(
The high-end lens on your Max Z990 is a SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH, the lens on the Z5120 is the lower quality RETINAR.

Actually, BensOutlet has the refurb Z990 for $139.99 & free shipping as their deal of the day. Only a 90 day warranty, but a much better lens.
For those that continue to think that Kodak has gone out of business, no longer exists, etc., here is the info link to their reorganization. This should be much easier than going back to school and studying bankruptcy protection! http://www.kodak.com/ek/US/en/Kodak_Transforms/Home.htm

Thanks for this link. I'm sure this will come handy in the future. I bought the camera as well.

HEY! Did y'all know this camera is cheaper on.... Huh? What? Somebody already posted this?
If you're gonna spend $150 why not spend an extra $50 and get a micro 4/3 and get a 14-42 kit lens. You can also use a variety of old manual focus 35mm lenses with an adapter. The m43 cameras available are just as compact as the Kodak bridge camera. A pancake lens will be even smaller. http://www.amazon.com/OLYMPUS-262855-Megapixel-Camera-camera/dp/B0037VVWBK/?tag=dealswoot-20

-LOL- (You may as well say something about AA batteries, too!) You are a hoot...a Woot-Hoot!!! YEA, the spammers have been dumped. Thx
spacemart wrote:how does it perform in low light?
This camera has special settings for night pictures, sport shots, super close photos, night landscape and even for fireworks. Not perfect but I am a very loyal Kodak fan and the cameras have never disappointed me! I especially love the "Z" series....
joshobra wrote:I've bought from them a few times. The items all came in between a week to a week and a half. So far everything I've ordered from them works and in the condition described. Just note that the shipment package isn't going to come in a box, so far I've gotten mines in large bubbled envelopes/bags. But I usually don't buy anything from the site that is overly expensive (over $3).
I too have bought from 1SaleADay a few times (most recently a refurbished Kodak PlayTouch Zi10 - recertified by the manufacturer - which arrived quickly, in perfect shape and in its original packaging) and I have never experienced a problem with them. Of course, one should always do some research on a product before placing an order with any online seller. For instance the sheet set they had on sale yesterday had horrendous reviews on Amazon.
I wish I had $150 laying around! This camera looks AWESOME!

Well, at least the AA is a legitimate concern if you don't want them. I like my AA camera. Spammers: Pew Pew Pew
Amazon is selling this for $139.99 with free shipping.... so hardly a deal here!
numbersguy79 wrote:Amazon is selling this for $139.99 with free shipping.... so hardly a deal here!
Amazon is not selling the camera for 139.99.
mike11212 wrote:Amazon is not selling the camera for 139.99.
Yeah, but I'd shell out the extra $15 for the red color...
And Walmart.com is selling disposable cameras for less than $9 with free shipping Site-to-Store...so hardly a deal at Amazon.
Fine, after 23.8 hours of deliberation, in for a poiple one. (That's purple, to you.)
Can't wait for this camera! It was awesome to receive my Microsoft mouse in only three days - I hope the same happens to this one!

Excellent alternative! I had no idea prices on that camera had come down so much, thanks.
This is my first order to Woot. Where does the "shipped" notification show up in my account information? The webpage says "You can revisit this page by clicking the order number link on the "your account" page. If your order doesn't change to "shipped" within 5 business days, check in our community forums...". I see an order number but no link. Thanks!

When you click on 'my account' it will show you what you have ordered. Click on that and it will show you status. Right now it should say something like, "your order is in. you're all set now." click here to view your receipt.
Wow- extremely satisfied with recent Woot shipping! I already received the camera, but probably living close to Woot helps. Thanks!
Looking forward to trying out our new camera.....soon!!!!

Don't know whether the camera has a burst mode, but that might help. Otherwise you can shoot a movie and select a couple of stills. ...works for me on my older camera. Waiting for my new Kodak to be shipped.
Wow, that was fast. I only just got the notification that my camera shipped last night and it just showed up. Woot must have a distribution center in Phoenix, another advantage of life in Vegas. Think I'll have to pick up a different bag for it, or maybe add some filler to this one. The bag included is a universal one and the camera sits pretty loose in it. Better than having no bag at all though.
cppcrusader wrote: another advantage of life in Vegas.
Fortunetly for you, you should be able to take advantage of that for awhile. With the Vegas housing market, you won't be leaving soon!
you guys got yours already? mine still says order is in. so it hasent even shipped yet. Its still early. but I just figured they would all go out within the same day or 2
Just received mine today. This camera is sold by Amazon, it was shipped from Indianapolis, IN to OH, I received it in 2 days. Amazon always ship from Indianapolis when I order from them, also it came with an A3 Amazon box. Another thing it was shipped via UPS, which I like more than the horrible smart post (I am not sure how smart it is!) The camera came in a white card board box which is unusual!!! most electronics come with nice colorful boxes. The camera is very easy to use i mastered it in two minutes. The videos are very good. The zoom is great. The case looks little funny and generic though it has a Kodak tag attached to it. i think this camera is a good deal for $155. But I don't understand why they used the horrible white card board box which does not even have the manufacturer seal. I don't know what happened. Overall the camera looks very good so far.
I just got shipping notice on mine and it says USPS.

The camera was sold by Woot! In our continued efforts to improve shipping, we use a variety of shipping methods such as drop shipping (direct from vendor) and Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). When using FBA, we instruct our vendor to deliver the product to one or more fulfillment centers from which the product will then be shipped. Please note that we are not part of the Prime or Super Saver Shipping program.

I have been informed that my camera has been shipped via USPS and have received a tracking number. Every time I enter that tracking number at USPS.com I am informed that: "Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office." What's up with that?
Mine came today. Nice little camera, but it didn't come with a strap. I'm a little disappointed in that.
Well, I'm bummed. And a little bothered. After clicking the link to USPS and receiving the weird message that my order could not be tracked through that site (after being informed by woot that my camera had been shipped via USPS) I finally figured out that it hadn't been shipped via USPS at all but instead through SmartPost (a branch of FedEx). So I ran my tracking number through their system and, lo and behold, they haven't even received the package from Amazon (?) yet. So after being told that my camera had already shipped I find out that it's not even close to being shipped! How can woot not know who they shipped it through? I want my camera! Waaa!!!
my order status still just says that my order is in, how did people already receive their cameras and mine doesn't even have a tracking number
Capeto wrote:Digital cameras still use AA batteries? That may be a dealbreaker for some, including myself :/
You kidding me? This is one reason I BOUGHT this camera! FAR easier to have a pocket full of AA batteries and or to buy AA batteries from ANY store, then to have to wait to charge a rechargeable battery. I LOVE the fact that it uses AA batteries!!
cbyrdjr wrote:Mine came today. Nice little camera, but it didn't come with a strap. I'm a little disappointed in that.
Same here....To not supply at least a basic camera strap with a camera of this size and weight seems kind of chintzy to me. The User Guide even shows one how to attach the strap to the camera and the lens cover to the strap but nowhere indicates that a strap is not included. Was there supposed to be a strap? Have others received a strap? I've never purchased a camera that didn't come with at least some kind of strap.
Wow!!! Already got my Kodak ! Arrived today, I opted for the Purple one and it is sweeeeet! Easy set-up, I was able to figure out the various picture options easily as well. I was using my old Fujitsu 2.5 Megapixel camera, what a difference! I am a satisfied Wooter with this one!
I have one and I love it! It takes great photos!
Got mine today and great little camera. When I try to install easy share i get an error message "get camera setting with key" Tried a reinstall but same message. Any ideas?
