And here's another YouTube review!

$60 for a tablet? Perfect for that little kid you have at home.

I wonder if there is going to be a Woot R.A.F.T. with this tablet.

Anyone know if this can be rooted and/or are there any custom firmwares available for it? If so, I'm definitely in for one.

A tablet for $60? That's nuts.

Alright, my dream of having screens in every drawer, in my fridge, in the cabinets, under the bed, behind the couch... EVERYWHERE. is about to come true.

You can't be a true playa without flatscreens everywhere!

Well, biscuits! I just dropped $250 on a Nook Tablet + screen protectors + case and spent a weekend learning how to install CM7 because I thought this was the best bang-for-the-buck deal, and now Woot puts this up for sale! Maybe I should just return my Nook and get this instead? In for one!

So in the place it seems like they'd mention the processor, it says "stylish". Instill confidence that does not.

Here's the website for this model.

Doesn't look like its flash enabled.

to answer questions posted, it can't be used for flash or Youtube, it can't be rooted ect.

It is good for reading books, so if you wanted to get a nook you may as well go this route.

Bad review on Amazon. Only 2.8 out of 5.

I have this tablet and it can be rooted however there is no custom firmware for it.

You are getting what you pay for with this tablet, it is incredibly slow and rather frustrating to use but if you really want a tablet then go for it I guess.

Reviews are all over the place. Seems like it'll do what the price says it will. Expecting an iPad - You'll hate it. Expecting an inexpensive tablet for basic functions - worth the $60.

Okay, $60 for a tablet. This seems too good to be true so I have to assume this tablet can't do everything you'd expect it to. Can you give me a realistic idea of what to expect with this thing?

The same one I bought here a few months ago. It came (refurbished) with a 90-day warranty. It died on day 92 and never came back to life. Junk.

If I mainly need an ebook reader, and have been looking at a kindle fire, what perks would I be missing out on if I went with this thing? I need help making an educated decision.

Tell the time? Calendar? Notes?

It's probably like a generation right after PDAs of the 2000s.

According to the reviews online, it is not flash enable, has none of extras other lower end tablets on woot have (i.e. gps, gyroscope, etc.), does not have access to google play, and does not work with angry birds. It does however have have some programs preinstalled (Amazon Kindle, Napster, OfficeSuite, and Twidroyd).

jimerwin

quality posts: 1 Private Messages jimerwin

bought one last November. so slow, no angry birds, no full android market, just a bad overall tablet, probably more of a aromatic ereader than a tablet. I bought a referb 10" galaxy tab a month later and love it. save your money for something that doesn't suck.

Biggest failing for me is lack of any kind of HDMI port to connect to a TV (Netflix, etc.) but the Nook tablets don't have one either. Depends on your priorities and purposes.

I bought two of these.

You CAN easy root upgrade rom via sd card.
Using this link.

http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/27583-rom-t301-sjhill-rom-17-feb-2012-download-link-updated/page__st__100

Improves it adding real Google market etc.

I use mine for recipes, simple surfing, ebooks, and some
Apps including words with friends.

But wouldn't really recommend it. Many apps are incompatible and it is slow and it's unresponsive for a capacitive device.

Here is the current direct link from page 1 of that thread...

I have 2 of these with custom roms.

They WILL NOT play angry birds or have flash, but for kids, these work well enough.

Can we please have a mindless, pointless argument comparing this to the iPad, that results in no one changing anyones opinion, and snarky comments back and forth that take the place of legitimate information for those trying to make an informed choice....please please please!

According to http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/18618-demand-for-a-custom-rom-for-the-velocity-micro-cruz-tablet-t301/page__st__200 and a few other references, it's a MIPS, not an ARM - which doesn't matter as much as you'd think, since android apps are mainly Dalvik java-ish bytecode, not native code...

You can download Amazon market but not all of the newer apps will work.

NO! The rooted nook is a much better tablet. I have a nook with CM7, and have used the velocity side by side. The velocity is terribly laggy, the resolution is terrible, there is no (easy) way to get Netflix on it, it has problems running tons of apps, it's honestly just a piece of junk. The nook is probably still the best inexpensive tablet out there. Keep the nook.

With no charger or box. Having those is worth a couple extra bucks to me. That being said Walmart has mixed reviews as well. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/allReviews.do?product_id=20434513

Nope, nope and nope. Also, not all Android games will run. This has a MIPs processor and most applications are optimized for ARM.
