Good morning everybody! I took the old lab out for a walk and the gardenias are blooming. I love the smell. Now the old hubby and the old me are going to jog a little on the beach. We didn't jog while we were in the mountains. We were too busy doing yard work and graduating. Oh and washing the vinyl siding on my Mom's house. And a bunch of other stuff. It is nice to be back here in SC where it is quiet and peaceful. Just us and the old dog. I miss Daughter but this is nice.

Waiting is awful and I cannot get to the level in angry birds needed to advance. Damned laughing monkeys. Still waiting for some news this morning. I well realize thAt all procedures are palliative and that there is no cure. Still wish more time for him as long as it can be quality it,me

Morning all. Relaxing with the oldest. Going to get the rest in an hour. They have one more week of preschool. We wanted Ver1 to have a couple days of quiet time at home without them before the chaos got going.

Ver3 wouldn't sleep at all last night, very tired today. Not much of an anniversary. Maybe we'll try to go out next week when our friend isn't sick anymore. Having trouble finding high school/college kids who want to babysit. I must know all the wrong people.

Good luck with that. Once they hit 16, they don't want to baby-sit anymore, either boys or girls.

True, I stopped babysitting around then, but my sister just took over for me. I only had one kid I watched. We were the wrong faith to get any other babysitting jobs.

That's about how long people stay here, long enough to get an advanced degree... unless they become lifers.

I'm waiting on a call from a lifer with two girls that are willing to occasionally babysit *crosses fingers* They already know my kids so it'd be a good fit. The oldest just got her license though, so she's getting "too old". There aren't many jobs for high school students here, so she may stick around, who knows.

We only have about 5 more years before Ver1 could probably watch the other two for a couple hours. Of course by then they will be old enough to go to many movies with us. So it'd be more likely that would just be the occasional dinner.

Ours is the one of the largest VFW posts in the country - membership-wise. We have a full service bar, a huge banquet room, and kitchen and staff that serves a wide-ranging menu - from short order to gourmet dining.

I'm here. I had nothing to say about your rainbow. Going to have the youngest granddaughters tomorrow while the oldest one graduates.

Babysitter came, kids had a good time! Unfortunately, it rained so they mostly just watched movies, but whatever. We went and saw Avengers, it was fun. Some people brought a little girl to see it, she freaked out as soon as it started, then started wandering the theater trying to talk to the five people watching the movie. They eventually left sometime in the middle. Only mildly annoying and they did take her out a few times and try talking to her before coming in to try again. For a slow theater night, I'm not going to complain, perfect time to try that experiment with a kid (although personally I would choose the matinee).
