I sincerely and honestly believe this is the worst woot item I've ever seen. I would hate to be named the first sucker for this.

That case looks like it has a tumor on the back.

-impatiently waiting for a real iPad dock-

Looks like it can't go wrong with drop protection though.

If my imaginary physics calculations are correct, the bean-bag portion of the case should hit the ground first and surpress the high pressure damage to the screen that is the leading cause of screen cracks.

POSSIBLY THE BEST BoC THREAD EVER. (With a story!~)

I'm going to hold out for the stinky Chuck Taylor & petrified gym sock iPad holder.

Can't I just reuse the beanbag chair I had for my pet rock?

Haha I loved the standard issue, "I've never done anything in my life, how do I function? keep me away from sharp objects" you see in every infomercial. Great acting Sean! (Shawn? sorry I don't know.) Haha Randall always cracks me up too. Great work everyone!

Watch the video in the write up! You won't be sorry!

I agree--it was hilarity to the 3rd (or 'new') power.

On the one hand there's Sean in shorts, on the other hand there's a coat rack stacked with winter coats to the left of Sean's desk. Which begs the question... did this video take 3 seasons to film? Which begs another question, did monkeys die in the process? If you are a very astute observer, you will notice one very dead screaming monkey on Sean's desk. Reminds me of the dwarfs who hung themselves in back of the set of Wizard of Oz....

Oh, thank goodness I'm not the only one to think that. Almost makes me want to get a pink one. Because iPads should have bawls, right?

$60 ! ... $20 ! ... geez ... we used to use bags of pearl tapioca, rice, M&Ms (but they'd disappear) - 40 years ago - to stablilize a book - remember those? - or to steady a camera - $60! - $20 ... this is nuts!

Great! Hopefully now my wife will stop carrying a boppy infant pillow. In for 1.

Cute idea but it's non-compressible so it's not easily transported, i.e. you can't place it in your pocket. Perhaps they could have made it inflatable with air instead. It can use internal tubular supports like those in air beds to prevent wobbling, and a weighted rubber lined base to prevent slippage.

It's more comfortable than holding an iPad for hours while watching a movie. This isn't like a traditional stand. It's great for placing on the lap when there is no table, i.e. om a car ride. Traditional stands need a flat surface.

You can easily make your own with a cloth bag or a heavy duty ziploc bag. Simply fill with beans or rice. Put some Velcro on the bag and the back of your iPad. Voila.

Oh my gosh. I bought one. I watched the video to get a laugh, and then thought... hmm, I'd love to have my iPad on my desk all propped up and handy like that.

I'm both ashamed and excited.

I have and prefer the Wedge-e (http://wedge-e.net). It's better than a pillow or this weird beach ball contraption....

Slightly more expensive, but highly recommended.

Tis a tragedy that adults are now carrying around iPad's on expensive pillows and cradles like they are infants, because anyone who buys pink bunting for their iPad really secretly want a real child or have money growing in a tree in their back yard

Whoops I did it again : /

I strongly disagree. I don't think any of the past 20 or so Woots have been good, but that's just because I have no use for them.

This item, on the other hand, seems very useful in my situation. Looks like a good way to hold an iPad on a desk, and I've never quite found a comfortable way to watch my iPad in bed.

EDIT: Oops, the reply button didn't work. Trying to reply to tennisplayer121.

When I saw the item come up my first impression was that this is the most ridiculous Woot of all time.

But then I watched the video and I'm...almost...sold....
.....almost.

(I have to admit, as a tablet owner, that a stand that requires neither careful placement nor even a flat surface has actual value, as demonstrated. And while you could use a beanbag, the flaw there is that the beanbag has no attachment point and so the tablet can easily slide down and off of it.)

This is probably a violation of the NDA... but oh well. iChild will be out soon. Think tamagatchi with a baby job's face. I'd make a comparison to crazy cat ladies and their "children" but some are there already...

Personally I have mixed feelings about it. It will probably make them more obcessed with their ipad or give them an excuse to "justify" their obcession. And therefore make them more annoying. But if it stops even one Hipster from actually reproducing its a net win for us all.
