Do you have to pay for monthly 3G?

You are not required to pay for 3G. You can get by on just the Wifi.

Just purchased an unlocked Exhibit II for $199 last week, this sucks...

Too pricey for me to ask as a Father's Day gift from the family.

No, You don't HAVE to pay for 3G, but you can't use the 3G unless you pay for it. The Wifi will still work.

only if you plan on using it ... most cell companies require a data plan if you are going to use 3g on a tablet, however if you have a decent android phone most cell companies (read: not metropcs) allow tethering through your phone to the tablets wifi eliminating the need for a 3g plan

This is iPad territory as far as dollar signs are concerned.. I wouldn't touch an android tablet with a 20 foot pole for this price.

These things may be the bee’s knees - no opinion. But the commercials are hilarious. A bunch of people brainstorming, passing them back and forth writing on them, in various colors, then sharing some laughs at their creations. All things that just happen to also be possible with another cutting edge product: a pad of paper.

Amen.

I was in Korea for most of last year and people were using these things like phones. I'm not kidding you. They were holding them to their heads and talking. For people of their size it was like watching someone hold a coffee table up to their head and talk into it..

Go Samsung..

I was on an Alaska cruise a couple weeks ago -- amazed at the number of people taking pictures of themselves in Alaska with their iPads. *sigh*

Sure for $100 more you could get a brand new iPad 3, and then for only about 20 more you could get a brand new iPad 2.

Wait, where was I going with this?

So why is it a part of me is going "DO WANT!"?

I want one, but for a better price. That doesn't seem to be woot-worthy. :-(

Android 3.2? Really?

A brand new Galaxy Tab 7" 2 runs Android 4.0 and is available on the Amazon for $249... I know it's WiFi only, but how come the "discount" version of this runs 4.0, and the premium version is outdated? Annoying.

I hear you but there's something about holding the device up and seeing the image that you're trying to capture in approximately 8 x 10 format. It is highly engaging. This sounds like more Steve Jobs magical pixie dust but I sure you it was my impression.

Well, to be fair the iPad 2 *with 3G* is $529, so still quite a bit more.

EDIT: Not that I'd ever get one of these. I too am waiting for my Touchpad to arrive.

I have the Wifi Only version of this and it's a good tablet. I prefer the 7" form to the 10". This is supposed to get the upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich, but that announcement was 6 months ago. I was considering "upgrading" to the 2.0, but the screen resolution and only 8GB of storage were downgrades.

I use a Mifi with the Wifi only version. Seems like a no-brainer to combine the two. You definitely can use this wifi only without a 3G Sim card.

I think I'll give my wife my Wifi only unit. In for one.

You were convincing people to keep this sale going longer, much like myself, despite the fact that you're trying to net a brick of carbonite.

It is 8GB and the screen resolution is lower. Seems like a downgrade. Remember, Gingerbread (Android 3.0-3.2) is the tablet OS. ICS is supposed to be the "Everything" system.
