Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

I wanted to pick more than one! However, I must say your hot mess of shipping needs to be sorted out. 5 Dollars on a 3 dollar item really? I also would LOVE giftcards. I can't ask for them for birthdays etc. when the don't exists.

Yeah, but how about $5 shipping on a $200 item?

I need the option for "It's pretty much okay right now, but if anything, I'd rather have LESS stuff on the page, not more."

Seriously. The shipping's just fine. I'm amazed at how quickly things arrive, nowadays. There are enough sites, thanks (I might actually let home dot woot disappear into the mist, if it was up to me).

Save the money you'd spend on making fancier or different forums, or launching new sites, and go back to the original Monkeys. Just saying.

It takes months to find a customer, but only seconds to lose one.
The good news is that we should run out of them in no time.

I am with the other guys...
I would have chosen all of the above! Hope you take all of these into consideration, Woot. You are pretty awesome as you are, though. I don't know any other site that I have ordered from 49 times!
Love ya, Woot!!

I chose a master list for all of my purchases.

However...if you were to start selling gift cards I can say that my birthday is in a few months and I know what I would be asking for.

I am still a woot padawan and so far, I think this website is great as it is. That being said the two suggestions that come to mind are:

1) I would like a change to shipping and by that I mean combining shipping (at least during a woot-off) would mean less waste, however if this creates more work on your end then I understand why you guys haven't implemented this yet.

2) I do spend a considerable amount of time on deals.woot and would like to push for a FAQ that focuses more on what deals cannot be posted. There are numerous "why was my deal removed" threads and these rules are unknown to newer people. A quick search for a "deals.woot unofficial FAQ" will probably yield quite a few results, just 3 weeks ago lichme compiled this list. Now I understand new rules will be added every now and then, but there is an apparent need for it.

i see the same question on all the woot sites, but the answers aren't all the same. so here is a copy of my home.woot answer:

whereas all of those sound like great ideas, can i add a couple?

tattling: make it a select a button instead of a dropdown menu. and give definitions/examples of what qualifies as which.

a real faq page

a way to mark a deal so you can find it later without having to comment or vote on it. (so i voted on a bunch but can't find the ONE).

an option to put a self expiration date on deals.

A separate section for Dyson and Roomba products (Dyson Woot) or a Dyson day, so we know not to waste our time checking woot that day. How many vacs can a person need in a lifetime?

I came to post the exact same thing. I get so annoyed when I go to my favorite woot site only to find another Roomba or Dyson listed again.

I chose a master list for all of my purchases.

You can see your master list of all your purchases already. See the "My account" link under your username at the top of the page? Click that and your list of purchases will appear on the left side.

The only thing I think we need from Woot is a choice for expedited shipping on everything, not just once in a while.

Actually, 3 levels of shipping would be nice:

1) The $5 smart post (like now).
2) A 3-5 day choice (like UPS ground).
3) An overnight choice.

This shouldn't cost Woot anything extra and would make a nice improvement for those of us that see an item that would make a nice gift but are afraid it will take too long to arrive.

Variety. I just don't need any more vacuums, TVs/tuners/interface boxes or HP computers. Honest. Repetitive offers and repetitive offers will not entice me.

There's such an awesome variety of products in the world to offer, give these a much needed rest and offer something totally unexpected instead.

I voted for more woot sites on all of the current sites, but I actually like this answer. I was a much more frequent visitor back when you just had the one original site. I would sit up until midnight everynight (well, almost everynight). Seems like you didn't post deals every night in the beginning? I also miss the random Brick of Carbonite posted at midnight and that was it for the day. Now they only come during woot offs. Sometimes simpler is better.

This x1000. If I don't need a Dyson today, I'm probably not going to change my mind in three days. The same goes for Roku boxes, etc- but the vacuums are the most annoying for me.

I would LOVE a pet.woot. I know that I'm not the only one.

I'm fine with the current shipping practice/costs.

Woot's format is pretty good right now.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen a few of the things I'm looking for, that have been available in the past, which I need now. Such as, those nifty LED flashlights which are so much cheaper than the two MAG lights I just bought. A new PC (yeah, I know there were a few in the last Woot-off, but not the one I wanted). Some more of that really good olive oil that wine woot had last year (the orange infused and lemon infused stuff). Other than those things, right now really isn't the woot buying season for me. Get through summer, and once the fall comes around it'll be time to buy again.
A new woot site I might really go for - Beer.woot!

I think Woot is great as is. I even think the shipping is fast and reasonably priced.

However, if you are going to change anything, please start shipping to Hawaii so those poor people can stop complaining about how neglected they are and can begin to enjoy life again.

I agree with all of the options that involve better integration of the various sites.

Having three windows open during a Wootoff is a bit cumbersome. So is having to switch sites to track purchases, follow the forums, etc.

It's simple enough but there are concerns. Some folks don't agree with paying the same price for SmartPost as they do for standard parcel delivery. The determination of which Woots will be delivered in which fashion seems a bit arbitrary. And although we all applaud five dollar shipping for a 40 pound item, it seems less impressive when the item weighs less than an ounce, or the product costs $1.99, making shipping 2.5 times as much as the Woot itself. In these scenarios, many Woots are passed over because the shipping spoils the deal. It's great to get a five dollar item for two dollars, but not so wonderful if it costs seven dollars with shipping. Many folks would rather just go to Home Depot or wherever and pay full price.

Perhaps simpler wasn't a great choice of words. I think they might have been trying to say "more logical" shipping.
