Better product selection.

Before you'd put up more unique stuff. Not just overstocked junk. Why don't you seek out startups and try to get their wares on here occasionally? You guys should check out kickstarter and make some offers there so some of those products can reach the masses.

Vacuums should get their own site or be a side deal. It's nice to know they're consistently offered here but at the same time how many more people do you need to convert to spend an entire day on a vacuum?

At worst, relegate them to woot-offs. People know when to expect a woot-off and they're consistent.

Being able to buy more than 3 of something. There are items that appear for under a dollar, but even buying 3 combined with $5 shipping still isn't an awesome deal. This option doesn't need to be available all the time, but for somethings it would be great.

However, if you are going to change anything, please start shipping to Hawaii so those poor people can stop complaining about how neglected they are and can begin to enjoy life again.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to put in for a research stay in Hawaii to really dig deep into the heartbreak and pain that goes into living there for a few months.

I also vote for a pets.woot! Although my husband would probably have a fit. I would spend way too much money spoiling my already spoiled cats the way I go the grandkids using kids.woot Of course, he never complains about the cool stuff I get for him, like remote control helicopters...

forever fighting the urge to buy something just because it is cheap and cool...wait, it's cheap and cool, let me click that big yellow button!

Be sure you read the latest Dr. Beach world's top beaches which came out yesterdy and is referenced everywhere. You need to go to ALL of the beaches mentioned in Hawaii for this exploration - Thererfore, you must cover Maui, Lanai, The Big Island, Ohahu, and the rest. While there, you will be able to research from the working people at the establishments (restaurants, hotels, etc.) to see just how much business will eminate from there. Don't forget the AFB - lots of customers perhaps. Be sure to check out all of the ecosystems on the Big Island too.

As far as changes, I notice there was no place to vote for it is fine just the way it is. Therefore, I did not vote.

A consolidated order history would be a great feature. I'd also be thrilled if there was a refresh on items up for sale. Definitely seems like a lot of the same stuff coming up over and over again.

Maybe next wootoff do a "Random Roku Hour", pay $40 and you get one random roku. Then just put up the newest model as its own separate woot.

All my posts are Quality Posts. Even when they're not.

RWoodward wrote:It's simple enough but there are concerns. Some folks don't agree with paying the same price for SmartPost as they do for standard parcel delivery. The determination of which Woots will be delivered in which fashion seems a bit arbitrary. And although we all applaud five dollar shipping for a 40 pound item, it seems less impressive when the item weighs less than an ounce, or the product costs $1.99, making shipping 2.5 times as much as the Woot itself. In these scenarios, many Woots are passed over because the shipping spoils the deal. It's great to get a five dollar item for two dollars, but not so wonderful if it costs seven dollars with shipping. Many folks would rather just go to Home Depot or wherever and pay full price.

Perhaps simpler wasn't a great choice of words. I think they might have been trying to say "more logical" shipping.

I'm pretty sure that Woot adjusts the price of the actual item to make sense when shipping is combined.

Not always. One example would be the cheap Skill hand tools. Eight dollars with shipping on Woot! or seven dollars with tax at Home Depot.

They used to have that. It was called "Two for Tuesday." You could get up to six of an item, and they were generally priced to move and something you might want multiples of.

I get that there are woots that cost 0.01 and the shipping is where they get paid, but I would rather the item be 1.00 and shipping be 1.00 so you can get just one instead of having to get 3 for it to be worthwhile

Also shipping outside the states would be good, I have a friend over in the eurozone that likes a lot of the shirts but woot doesn't ship to his area

Wow! Lots of great suggestions here. I have to chime in and echo a few of the ones I like best:

1.) Deals.woot Rules/FAQ page --- SERIOUSLY!!!! We love our DW but have been begging for this for ages! It's embarassing for all parties when someone commits a DW faux pas that they didn't KNOW was a faux pas and no one can point to a rule about it.

2.) Pets.Woot.Com -- Love my furbabies! (And featherbaby)

3.) Mobile woot site -- Several other DealADay sites offer one so I say go for it!

Also, this might get me some hate, but can we do away with the downvotes on DW? If I don't like something I just won't vote for it at all. Rarely do I downvote. The ability to do so seems to invite trolling, and there are some folks who automatically downvote everything posted from a certain site or by a certain member. Too much negativity for me, especially since it's impossible to easily identify who downvoted something. At minimum, any downvote should require an explanation before it can be reflected. If I am posting a deal from a dodgy site, I want someone to explain that rather than just downvote so I can benefit from their experience.

Oh, and again on DW, what about adding the ability to self-expire the deals we post. If I know that a deal expires in a week I can set it up to expire then and no one has to clean up behind me.

Love me some Woot! Thanks for asking for our suggestions. This just proves that Woot values our community. Woot! Woot!

Yeah lets turn another internet forum into a hugbox
You already can't downvote more than you can upvote which makes sense but I don't like it
If you're getting downvoted, maybe you should put better thought into your posts so it doesn't happen

Perhaps I wasn't clear. I do see trends of downvotes for posts from specific sites regardless of who posts them. If it's a site I might want to buy from, I would really like to know why someone is categorically opposed to that site. Do they have bad customer service? Are they slow in delivering? Do they take your money and run? Inquiring minds want (and NEED!) to know!

Maybe people don't feel like saying the same thing over and over and over ad nauseam

I'm sure if you want to know about a particular seller, google or a simple search on the deals.woot questions forum will tell you all you need to know
Removing downvotes doesn't even remotely solve the problem, it makes it worse

Combined shipping if you purchase more than one item on the same day - i.e. if I buy something from kids woot, I get free shipping on orders from the other woots. That would be awesome.

Also, combined shipping during a woot-off would be super duper fantastic.

Let me add a vote against combining the account pages. I'd be especially sad to see the wine woot page folded into the others. I've purchased a LOT of things over the years. I don't want to have to scan through them all just to see if I've purchased wine from a particular winery before.

Sure, make a master list, if you must, but let it be selectable, maybe as an extra link. I like the separation of the account pages.

I'd also like to see sellout easier to reach. It's really annoying to have it bring up Deals dot Woot each and every time.

Could you please dump local.woot? It's just not working. Really. It isn't.

It takes months to find a customer, but only seconds to lose one.
The good news is that we should run out of them in no time.

This is a great idea!
More Logical Shipping is pretty good idea, too, for those super cheapie light items. At first I was shocked to even see "shipping changes" as a poll option, although I kinda understand after the above posts. Still, I'll tell you, if it means that heavier things cost more to ship (in addition to lighter things costing less)... NOOOO. I'll buy three 1.00 items and pay $5 shipping and I'll LIKE IT.

AA blanks and the original/ capped woot monkeys. Not these drab, be-masked clowns that look like teddy bears.

I suggest that you give logged-in users the option of customizing their Woot homepage. There is too much chaos going on now. Please give us the option of hiding or moving the WootCast, Deals., Local., tweets, blog, video, etc.

And yes, we understand that you are expanding and whatnot, but permitting us to reorganize the clutter would be a fantastic next step.

Currently, it looks like Woot is advertising itself all over its own website...

STOP the same old crap over and over and over.
Dyson on woot.com one day, on home.woot another day,on Sellout a third day. ENOUGH already be it Dyson's, Roomba's, Roku's, Panasonic cameras etc etc.

Woot is losing customers with this meesa stoopidic pushing the same products on their customers.

some of my favourites:

1. giftcards - would make gift buying so easy

2. Out with the darn vacuum cleaners. If I need one, I'll wait until a woot off. Bring back the old days where there were more tech related stuff. If nothing else, keep the vacuums on home.woot

3. The master list of all purchases would be a nice touch.

4. Auto-expire on deals

5. An faq for deals.woot

6. A mobile version of the website.

7. Combined shipping across sites/during woot-offs

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Change for the sake of change is usually not a good thing.

Instead of new changes, how about bringing back things that people miss about woot. Two-for Tuesdays were great! Woot-offs used to be fun and worth staying up all night to get a great deal. Now they seem very repetitive and no real bargains.

I also miss the days when Bundles of Clones were actually random and not just the same dollar store junk for everyone, and the "bag" in the Brick of Carbonite was an awesome camera case or a decent backpack.

As for shirt.woot, bring back AA shirts, if nothing else, as an option for reckoning and side sale shirts. Bring back the misprint boxes, or offer them as random crappy shirts at a lower price. I actually received a "mess of misprints" box once. It was like Christmas!

Purple.
But, agree, don't change just for the sake of change. Make sure it's a change for the better. Do a focus group, don't rely only on Woot employees because much as I like them, I don't think they're really a cross-section.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Things that would make Woot better:

1. A return of the Two for Tuesday deal, I loved that and sorely miss it. Being able to buy six stainless steel water bottles is basically the awesomest thing ever.

2. Perhaps creating, as others have suggested, a vacuums.woot.com page for all the vacuums that seem to pop up more often than not. Most people don't need more than one vacuum cleaner, so if someone's actually looking for one it's great, but for the rest of us, it's a bit disappointing to see a vacuum cleaner again.

3. A return to AA blanks on shirt.woot. Even if it means a higher cost per shirt, I'd be willing to pay it to get AA shirts. I own almost 40 shirt.woot shirts because I like the fit of the AA blank, bought one of the new shirts and it just doesn't fit the same. There's been quite a few designs since the switch that I've wanted but haven't bought because of this. Maybe it isn't possible, but perhaps Woot could have an option to either buy a shirt on the Anvil blank for cheaper, or pay a higher cost for an AA blank if that would help with costs. Then the people who don't care could buy the cheaper ones, and the ones who do could buy the better ones.

4. Finally, more cheap gadgety stuff in the $10 or less category. One of the best purchases I've made on Woot were the super cheap silicone watches and I'd love to see more stuff like that.

May have already been said, but I'd love to see adjusted shipping rates for items that cost less than the standard $5.00 shipping rate.

Often times the deal breaker for me on those cheapo items during woot-offs, etc, is the fact that the item I'm buying (or would be buying) actually costs less than what I'm paying for shipping.

The dawn is my enemy.

I don't see much complaints when the large items ship for the same $5. You know if they adjust the shipping rate, that cheap shipping will go away. It's also a pretty good deal when the shipping is the same for 1 or 3 items. So your best bet on cheapo items is to buy 3!

I wish this could happen, too, but more than likely woot has signed a contract with the new supplier. So even if they wanted to change back, they probably can't at this point.

Terrible, horrible, just absolutely ridiculously awful move on this one, woot. Even if I still wanted to buy these awful new shirts, I can't. You don't have a size that even comes close to fitting me. That SUCKS.
