Seriously, I like the new name for your thread! This is my first day in it.

I have only read to page 2, though, but did check out the naked-people-running-around painting and wondered (to myself, of course) if you thought these electronic friendships a delight, that we don't mask or clothe ourselves with faslehood and reveal our true natures to one another or you just thought of us all running around naked together?

Does anyone actually play second life? I read an article about it once but never got around to checking it out. I'm tempted to see what it's like, but I don't really have the time to get sucked in. Besides, I don't like to pay to play and my real life is pretty good as it is anyway.

I don't know anything about secondlife, but I vote for real life, too... Woot is about my 3rd life, I would guess. LOL

I don't. The article was good, though. Sounds like money can be made for the entrepreneurial types.

Hey, you carpentry types out there.

We broke the jigsaw blade over the weekend. Do I need to know which kind of jigsaw I have or are all blades standard?

Good. I didn't want to have to try to get the remaining piece out to try to figure out the size.

you probably do need it. THere are a couple of different types of blades for different manufacturers. some are notched so that the end goes nmuch deeper than the standard ones, so you should be sure.

They come with different teeth per inch, too. The ones for metal have a lot of teeth, the ones for wood, not so many. For fine cutting in wood, you need an intermediate number. The narrower the blade, the smaller turning radius you have, so it really depends on what you're using it for. If your blade is narrow, but you're cutting thick wood and don't need the turning ability, then you can overheat it because the blade is so narrow, and you'll burn it up.

How do I get the blade out of it? Is there a lever?

Each tool needs something specific...drills need chucks...ratchets need adapters...

depends on who made it. some of them use allen wrenches, others have these sort of __y things that you have to push in. mostly, though, its allen wrenches. a lot of them have an allen wrench attached somewhere on the sabre saw that you can detach and use. remember to put it back, though.

Like, why wouldn't a manufacturer just make a universal thing for this kind of issue?

I have a B&D jigsaw . . . uses standard saw blades . . . a simple screwdriver to loosen/tighten the set screw . . . a variety pack of blades will give you several choices of cutting options from rough to fine to metal to tile . . .

Grumpy 'til the day I die.
