Re: Mormon Gothic

As a Mormon, I wish people wouldn't keep spreading misinformation. Polygamy was abolished in our church in the 1800's, and since then, anyone practicing it has been excommunicated. I know, it's just a contest... but it gets old.

Every religion (and nationality) has embarrassing luggage in their closet, and the more weird it is, the more funny it is. Polygamy is pretty light considering what other religions have in their histories; Witch burnings, the Pedophiles of Boston, the Inquisition, The 700 Club, etc ...

Wow, does that bring back memories . . . It was 1973. I was just out of seminary school. I decided to be a Mormon (capitalised of course) and went out to Mesa, Arizona to find out what it was all about. I soon found out you could only have one wife after all. I was so disappointed I went up to Colorado City and married everything in a skirt. It was a confusing time of my life. Thirty-three years and eight divorces later, I realize that anyone who WANTS more than one wife must be deranged. I mean, OK, variety was the spice of life, but eight way community property and eight way allimony? Not to mention eight way PMS. Maybe I shoulda joined one of those hippie communes. All the benefits of polygamy and none of the responsibility. Oh, wait . . . I did. Hard to remember with all the acid flashbacks. . .

Sometimes old people just need a change. I wondered what that smell was.

What the original poster meant to say was "widescreen version, at night, during a complete power failure, under a cloudy sky, with a new moon, and with the mechanical dept. forgetting to fill the emergency generators with fuel."

Thanks very much. I wanted it to take a minute...

just seems to me I should try to make them look like the original artist actually made the widescreen version.
