After reading about Jason and Dave's adventures at CES, it was impossible not to be reminded that our world is becoming more and more digital. It seems that everything coming out these days has a built-in MP3 player, be it your new cell phone, a gaming system, a pez dispenser, your cat Fluffy.. you get the idea. In recognition of the fact that soon you'll be able to listen to music everywhere and with everything, let's revisit the song itself. Your mission, should you choose to accept it..

Illustrate the title of a popular song, and include the Artist/Title with your entry.

And yes, Shan, I do remember the good old days when contests came with a sampler, so here's one I made to get you started: Elton John's Tiny Dancer.

Ever wanted to draw the skyline of Suffragette City (David Bowie)? Care to show us the Bad Moon Rising (CCR) over a rolling plain? And who doesn't want to see what The Sign (Ace Of Base) actually said? For those about to rock, I salute you!

Enjoy the extra time, because chops will be due in class on Wednesday, January 24th (That's 11:59pm CST, for you slackers in the back - I know who you are). Use whatever method you like to whip something together, but just make sure it's a 550-px-or-less-wide jpeg, gif or png file, and sources are always appreciated. Imageshack or Photobucket, you know the drill.

Woot Army, PM your selection to me, wizard7926, by 11:59pm CST on Thursday, January 25th. Winners get jack squat, that's it. Oh, they get to pick the next topic, that's right, and bragging rights and all that jazz.

Elton John's - Don't let the son go down on me

I think that's how he originally spelled it. (or was that sun?)

Direct all angry letters to my sick mind which I lost a long time ago.

Fun Contest! Quite a bit of options to choose from...

Myabe this isn't exactly a popular song, but figured I'd go for it anyway — "Pigs on the Wing" by Pink Floyd.

Sources: Pig, Twilight Zone.

Everytime I hear that song this is the vision that goes through my head, maybe not with an Asian guy and maybe a little younger, but definitely something like this. Arg... now I can't get the tune out of my head.

He's yelling "No!" or maybe "Go!" I don't remember, all I knew is I wanted to get out of there real quick.

True dat. I mean, there's only 40 or so possible "normal combinations".. (Thumbdrive trophy, Thumbdrive plaque, Frog Family trophy.. the list goes on), but it's gonna be completely up to the judges' fancy as to who wins because of coming up with that "extreme" entry that goes beyond the call of duty, like Stew's dustbuster, Joe's wood-carving and TG's locked-up 3D render of a trophy. I mean, how can we compete with that?

So, you have decided to never enter the real contest again?
Or are you hoping that the gods never come back here?

Well, just want you to know.....that is a very funny chop!

I chopped Bugs head off back in contest 102 and I comfort myself with the thought that that is the reason I haven't been mentioned since. Maybe it's time to post under a new name.

Any chance the the winner in this woot contests gets picked for actually following the rules and or guidelines? The other contest seems to stray and the one's who follow the original rules keep getting overlooked and the ones who have "artistic licenses" take over. I hope since this one is run by the competitors that it might stick to it's rules. It looks like a lot of you have followed the rules already in this contest, good job. And yes, I will enter if this is the case.

Please enter! The DBC was started by Killingtime as not only an "in-between" to keep us chopping until the next contest was posted, but also as an alternative contest where the judging is for the people by the people.

The "rules" are most always well-followed around this contest. The people vote for which chop the people enjoy the most.

Also, even if you don't enter, you can feel free to vote for the winner by PMing me after all the entries are in (Wednesday, 11:59p CST)!
