Live From the Internet!

by Kathleen Richards

Breaking news about videos that will help you waste time at work.

Welcome everyone! Let's get started, huh?

Here's a cat video to get things going:

Proof that opera sucks:

Eh...maybe it's just that guy that sucks. It's hard to say.

And now, because I honestly had some trouble finding new good videos this week, here's a classic internet vid that's definitely worth another watch if you haven't seen it in awhile.

I feel ok laughing at them because I was once in a talent show where my friend and I did magic tricks and one of the tricks failed and the whole school laughed at us. So all that being laughed at earned me the right to laugh at whoever I want in a talent show setting.

But enough about me. I know what you've all been waiting for: the announcement of the first winner of the illustrious GOLDEN COMPUTER AWARD. Let's take one more look at that award, huh?

Pretty beautiful, huh?

I gotta be honest, when mbspell posted this wonderful video about Japan, I thought nothing could ever beat it. But then, daveinwarshington swooped in at the last second and posted this gem, which alternately terrifies me and enthralls me, mainly because this relatively simple video has managed to use every single video effect imaginable. I have no idea who this guy is or where this video came from and I will happily keep it that way. Check it out!

So congratulations to daveinwarshington for being the first winner of the GOLDEN COMPUTER AWARD!!! (daveinwarshington: feel free to grab that shiny shiny badge for your sig, if you so desire).

And, to all of you who weren't lucky enough to win that coveted prize, remember that you still can! Send in funny/weird/cool stuff and if yours is the funniest, weirdest, or the coolest (or better yet, all three combined) then that beautiful shiny computer can be yours! Do it! Do it now! Or whenever, really. You have all week.
