Pioneer Bookshelf Loudspeakers (Pair)

Or Just Play Any Neil Young Record Instead

Sure, some people might say “Nevermind” isn’t the greatest record in history. But those people probably never heard it on a pair of Pioneer Bookshelf Loudspeakers.

See, some bands, man, they gotta have the right set up. Like, Black Sabbath, you want to hear them in your boom box, going a little too slow because the batteries are dying. And The Ramones, you want to hear them on a slightly melted cassette that you pulled from the back seat of a 1979 Pacer. That’s what they’re produced for, man! That’s their quadrophonic! And that’s what you gotta remember about Nirvana, you just can’t listen to them on some cutting edge system. They’re all about the common man.

What you want is some CD player you bought at the local thrift store, with maybe a busted tray that you have to push a little bit. That’s gonna set the mood, right? Because that’s how it was in the 90s scene, everything was cheap and broken. Except for the speakers, of course. So you’ll need a pair of Pioneer BS41 Bookshelf Loudspeakers to really bring the music to you. Bonus points because they’re designed by Andrew Jones, a guy with thirty years of experience in speaker design. A dude like that, he’s gonna mix form with function, so you’re gonna get speakers that look good… but not too good, you follow? Like when Kurt would play the MTV Music Awards with hair that was messed up, but it’d still be messed up just so? Indifference makes a difference, man, and Andrew Jones knows when to act and when to just stay out of the way and let it happen. That’s the magic of the Pioneer BS41 Bookshelf Loudspeakers, and that’s why they’re gonna take you to a new understanding of this classic album.

Okay, so, you’re almost ready to experience the rock. But the Pioneer BS41 Bookshelf Loudspeakers are designed to deliver 130W power and high performance, and you don’t really want that much clarity, do you? Because if you do, you’re missing the point! You want the sound to be raw and wild! So take one speaker and set it in the kitchen, and then turn the other so it’s, like, facing the wall. And then crank up that album, open the window, and go sit on the porch.

Now you’re hearing the 5.25” woofer and 1” soft dome tweeter your Pioneer BS41 Bookshelf Loudspeakers have to offer, pumping out that quality bass and well-balanced treble. But you’re hearing it… as an outsider. And suddenly, you understand! It’s happening over there, and you want to be a part of it, but you’re not! And you can’t be! Because it only lasted for a handful of weeks! Just like all the best movements in history! Which you also weren’t really a part of either! But this one you can still buy into!

And now you’ll understand why Nevermind is being called the greatest record of the 20th Century just in time for the reissue. Pro tip: the Pioneer BS41 Bookshelf Loudspeakers will also work with previous greatest records of the 20th Century like Loveless and Paul’s Boutique (both of which are still on sale!) and any upcoming greatest records of the 20th Century, such as the anniversary release of Ok Computer in 2017. But right now, they don’t hold a candle to Nevermind, do they? BEST. RECORD. EVER! Go buy a copy of your own! It’ll feel like you were THERE!
