This is the third bad experience I've had with a woot! item lately, 2 of which woot! said had features which they really didn't have. They really need to make sure they are giving you what is advertised, because this is getting ridiculous. If this is the kind of service you can expect from woot! from now on, you can be rest assured they won't be getting any more of my business.

Agreed, at the very least woot should try using their products before selling it.

I was able to get UBI to resolve this CDKEY issue for me but before I post it, i'd like to make sure woot doesn't allready have what they need to support the masses. If you'd like, i'll post my answer, number I called, who I spoke to, and how it was resolved.

For this 8gb flash drive, a lot of us bought the games with hopes of playing multiplayer online (as the description stated) but there is no cd key given to play the game online in the package.

Ok, I called twice on this and the second time I was told the only option I have is to purchase a key for $5. I asked for a Mngr. I was transferred to a Trent.Apparently this product was discontinued a year ago, and this issue occurred back than also.(according to Trent). At this point most of Ubi support wasn't aware of this issue. He sent me a cd key without any hassel. He has assured me he would make sure his staff was aware and that the tech support database will shortly include this as a known issue. If you call support you shouldn't have any difficulties getting a key. At least in the US office. If all else fails ask for a Mngr. Trent didn't tell me to broadcast this but I include his name because I know he can help. I'm sure any other Mngr would be in the know as well.

I hope this helps. Here is a link to the support numbers: http://www.ubi.com/US/Support/InternationalSupport.aspx

mellowspaz wrote:100% sure? Starforce really scares the crappers out of me as I've had numerous DRM issues in the past. Would you consider yourself a bonafide computer technical expert to know where to find Starforce? Thanks in advance, I don't want to mess up my computer's dvd drive when installing.

go to http://www.glop.org/starforce/detect.php

it gives you instructions on how to detect for starforce. i checked my system. totally clean. it even has a utility to remove starforce if by some magical chance starforce invaded your system. i can only vouch for splinter cell and brothers because i bought those.

After loading, it said I needed a different graphic card. GC works fine for all of the rest of my games. What a shame.

I just tried to load the Chaos Theory game today and it would not load.Guessing it has something to do with the exe file or lack of one. It has an launcher.ex_ file which gives me a "Please select program to run this file". Now what?

Bought 3 of these. Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII. All worked fine for myself and the people I gave them to.
