Klipsch has always been an American company located in Hope, Arkansas. Audiovox is now it's marketing arm and they are located in Happauge, NY.

Klipsch was out of Indianapolis - one of their factories was in Arkansas. They have "downsized" this factory and most of the speakers are now made in China. My son visited these factories while an engineer at Klipsch. Don't believe everything you read in Wikipedia.

Generally, you get what you pay for, but there are a number of brands with overpriced subs (e.g. polk audio, bose, and often klipsch).

Affordable subwoofers:
$280 Acoustech H-100 Cinema Series

$250 Outlaw Audio M8

$200 Infinity

$200 BiC F12

$150 BIC Venturi V1020 10"

That's unfortunate. Luckilly my speakers are older. I haven't purchased anything from them in the past several years and all my past experiences with the Klipsch product line has always been fantastic. I guess things change.

Um- you are a cut-paste-cut-paste-cut-paster who hasn't a clue, making yourself look like an Jab-jab-jab-Jabberjaw.
Klipsch, like many companies in the US, has sold out to Chinese manufacturing of consumer level crap. The Klipsch of the 70's and 80's are legendary, and they are selling this crap based on the legend created years ago. The stuff they are pumping out of China now is no better than any other commonly available big box/discount store stuff.

Maybe you should only post about something you know, dolt.

e6zion wrote:The short answer to this is NO.

The long answer: yes... if you are really handy with electronics. You'll need a soldering iron and the ability to figure out how to balance the speakers.

My advice: You are MUCH better off buying these and an older receiver off craigslist. You will wonder how you ever listened to your logitech system. These without a sub will sound better than the logitech with one.

Why would i need a soldering iron?

It crossed my mind. I actually found a couple of "nearly new" of these for $160 w/shipping, so that's good enough for me. But thanks. Now looking for a sub-woofer for cheap....

sdwindansea wrote:If you do not mind going with a factory refurbished receiver, then I highly recommend the Denon 1712 (http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/DENAVR1712/DENON-AVR-1712-7.1-A/V-Surround-Receiver/1.html) for $239. You could also go with the Denon 1612 for $170. Both are great receivers/deals and will power this speaker set without any problems.
