Uh-oh. #1 son just called. Their electric's out from this last storm. They're going out to get something to eat. We may have a full house tonight.

Poor Flash! Hope he will be OK.

No rain here but thunder storms all around us cooled things off. I just took the trash out and it is muggy again. We are dreading the morning jog/walk. If it is too hot we will pull out the mean old Chuck Norris Total Gym.

pooflady wrote:Never heard of that. A relative has a boiler, thus no duct work. Always thought she couldn't get AC. How's it work?

A "thru the wall" system for A/C: They drill a hole through a wall. This is for two pipes; one pipe from the condenser outsde, and pipe for removing moisture to the outside. A blower unit inside has coils for receiving the cold air from the outside condenser.

The system is very quiet. When they installed at my house, the technology was new. The installer had done only one other installation. He was upset at one point because the outside unit wasn't working, or so he thought. He would go to the patio door and listen and couldn't hear the unit that was 15 feet away.

We had two units installed: one for the living/dining rooms, and one for the hallway to the bedrooms. Last year, we had to have a tech come out and remove the buildup in the drain pipe. We've had no other problems at all with them.

Interesting. Someone else was telling me they had a boiler and eventually put a giant air conditioner in the attic and that worked well.

Son and family came for the evening. They're already working on the pole that was down so they figure it will be back on during the night. The temp's down to 70, but it's really, really damp out. I'm not turning the ac off, it would take hours to get the moisture out of the house tomorrow.

Yeah Flash! Our lab isn't doing well today. The humidity isn't as bad today as it has been. We went to the beach after 7 this morning for our jpg/walk. I jogged for 3 of the 3.8 miles. I jpg some and then walk then jpg some more. Jpg not jpg.img the stupid auto correct I thought I had it cut off. Sigh

Hola wootland.

//goes to read back...hopefully won't get distracted this time//

Edit: AZ, speedy recovery wished for your doggie.

Joyner, sorry to read about the possible stroke of your lab. Wishing the best outcome for her and hugs to you. Do you know of a vet by your vacation home that could check on her out or because of her age do you think it's best to let nature take it's course and give her plenty of hugging.

KtC, hope you are having a great vacation!!!

D'name, when is hubby allowed to go back to work? He driving you nuts yet from being in the house?

Sometimes it's more like weeks. I'll be around till about 3:30 today. Actually don't even want to go out then since it's so stinking hot, but have to venture out. booo

How's your sister and children doing?

First are always hard when a close one passes. Even the first of each season was for me especially when summer hit since it was the main family vacation time.

Edit: so far in reading back I haven't seen a posting from Cruzer in reference to his dad.

Does anyone know how Cruzer is doing and how his dad is? I hope his parents home wasn't affected by the wild fires on top of everything else.

Oh and guess I should ask also...any Cruzer baby in the oven yet?

Last we heard Cruzer's dad was not doing well. He went to visit a few times.
But he also took his normal vacation.

No baby yet.

Not sure, think there might be a different house in the works. Maybe a more baby friendly one???

Thanks. I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

And speaking of babies. Forgot to say for Ice to have a great vacation playing with his little one.

It sounds trite, but as well as can be expected. Actually, the kids seem to be doing well so far. She's coping, but it's tough because he could fix/build anything. Friends called him when they had household problems. Now she has to figure out who to call or how things work. Thanks for asking.

Went to work.
it seems with the new banking regulations, now there are multiple new reports due. Add a few more months onto busy season. Now July is busy.
Hopefully he didn't wear a belt. The belt is right on the incision.

Yeah, not really much she can do but cope with things as they occur. Glad the kids are doing as best as possible. That's probably helping her also to see that in them.

A volunteer from the shelter recently lost it when she went to get her pool ready for the summer. She realized that he had always done it and she was clueless as to what to do. He passed in Feb.

As she said, she can call someone if she needs help. That really wasn't the problem. It was that initial moment of her new reality that just popped back in her head. It hit her like a ton of bricks all over again.

That isn't scheduled. That would be for the heart if the newest drug didn't work. It seems to be working. It will eventually stop working and then he will have it....in a slow month at work.

I have to have a MRI to see if my knee need surgery, which would also have to be secluded in a slow month at work.

There is a great vet here but we have never used her. The lab has so many other problems that we are just loving her. She has cataracts, a bad hip, and a huge lipoma (or something like that). We just want her to be peaceful and pain free.
