hohoho, i remember the glasses from the one that made sense... this one doesn't!!
I've had the e260 for a few months and like it. I use Yahoo Jukebox and have had no problems at all. I paid over 3x what Woot's selling from Shortcircuit City. I was thinking of selling it, but now my sale price has to be lower than Woot Damn you Woot.com ! (just kidding Woot I still love ya !)
I got 8gb version (brand new) from Costco with $30 coupon a week ago. For $30 less, I can go with 4gb.
HarryBeanbag wrote:You need the nose and glasses because you will be embarrassed owning one of these? I am confused.
the glasses give you an idea of the player's actual size.
You Woot bloggers are surprisingly educated to spoof Kafka

Same here. Errrrrr
Do not w a n t... this player is as big as a car! J/k... I have the e250 refurb (rox0rz!) from a previous woot, and it beats the Ipod hands down for features and value. Haven't had a problem with it from day one, would recommend it to anyone.
The Amazon description is much more detailed: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ETVKHE/ It's ranked 4 stars (out of 5) based on 1,077 customer reviews on Amazon!
The metal plated "Refurbished" on the back of the last one wasnt too attractive but still a great buy at this price. Most of us who would buy this already jumped on the 2Gb model though. I really like that it has a FM tuner and recorder, so i can get to new songs i like from the radio right away so i can remember to look for them and find then on the net when i get home :D
So did I, and I haven't even gotten it yet. Hell maybe I'll buy it anyway
This looks like a really nice player. Consider, however, that a few weeks ago, we were all buying 30GB Zunes for $85.....Still, nice little player...I suppose this one is drag and drop, which I prefer over cumbersome Microsoft or Apple software.....In other words, this one acts just like a hard drive like all my other Sansas...Am I correct?
ugh, I wooted the 2 g, which I am still waiting for!!! I am still thinking about buying this one, I can always gift or sell the other , right HEY, wait a minute, it doesnt come with the groucho glasses? Oh No way now, deals off!
Ugh. Already have a ton of mp3 players from woot already. When are they going to offer some Sansa View players? I could use a portable video player... and yes, yes I know this can play video too, but not as good or as long as a View. Anyone have an idea when they will have Views available for cheap on woot? If so give me a PM.
paikman wrote:Does it say refurbished on the back?
It does, but if that sort of thing demeans your position in society, you can remove it. You can put them back on if your name or initials happen to be found in "refurb (rox0rz!)".
Stark wrote:Hahaha. I didn't particularly care for The Metamorphosis, but the description is just terrific.
I agree wholeheartedly (though not with the part about disliking The Metamorphosis). Absolutely excellent description today Woot! Really funny stuff.
Hey Woot!! I received my earbuds and USB cable (no player) Saturday for the 1GB Sansa - You could make it up by just sending this unit - no need for the USB or earbuds - assuming they are the same... Anyway - hoping to at least get a reply for that one this coming week...
doesnt really matter, you can peel them off easily with a knife of sometimes your nail
does the software support vista?
eyewerks wrote:I bought the e250 (2GB) refurb (rox0rz!) unit from Woot last month and was extremely disappointed. It shipped without product packaging of any sort and without some of the accessories that come with the new units. The earbuds were NOT the ones that ship with new e200 series units, but rather extremely cheap ones. Unit was stamped "refurb (rox0rz!)" in huge silver letters on the back, so it is not suitable as a gift. I have purchased refurbs before from other online retailers and have always otten like-new itemsm but this Woot experience was horrid. "Woot" is my new synonym for "rip off".
Warm up the back cover, the letters slid off
I'm sure someone will end up deleting this message posthaste, like most of the messages that have something to say about Woot's business practices, but... I HIGHLY recommend that anyone interested in picking these up read a little from the Nov 5th Sansa sale forum. A lot of us had significant issues with our purchases, debatably Sandisk's fault for blind-boxing incomplete, damaged, or in many cases, grossly mislabeled players...and woot's fault for trusting them without checking to see what they were actually selling. Few of us have gotten our order straightened out even a month later. tl;dr -- The last Sansa sale was a trainwreck, Woot blamed Sandisk's refurbs, because they don't open boxes to check what's inside. Be warned.
Not doing well on eBay...
z64dan wrote:got my GF the 2GB. i think this has a microSD expansion slot (she's getting a 4GB microSD for $37). So that makes a 6GB player for pretty cheap.
I don't think you can use a 4 GB ont these players because if I'm not mistaken anything about a 2 GB micro SD card is considered HCSD which isn't recognized by this player...
We have 6 Sansa players that I LOVE. I bought most of them on here on Woot as refurbs because we travel a lot and I don't want to pay a lot for a player that I could lose or drop and break, etc. What is lovely with them is the little memory cards that you can buy and then I carry around all my little disks in my purse in a special little pouch I made (hehe) when we're traveling so that I don't lose all my music if I lose my player (I always carry an extra player and yes, losing my players and my stuff while traveling happens to me A LOT because I'm a dork.) Anyway, I love that I can put whatever I want on the little cards. Like on one I have my collection of Jimmy Buffett. On another I have my Traveling Wilbury's and Tom Petty. One I'll have a show on it and well, you get the picture...anyway, I load up my player with a bunch of songs that are my favorites at the time and then when I want to listen to something different, I pop in one of my little cards. On the basis of value, these can't be beat. Also, now Amazon has downloads for 89-99 cents and it is so easy to put their songs on the player.
i got one of these at Best Buy about a year ago and wish i had known it'd be on Woot! maybe i'll save a couple hundred bucks next time. also, i love it (for the most part...the radio isn't the best--i prefer Iriver)
digitalmonkeyman wrote:Come on Woot! Let's have those glasses!
Very cheap shipped on-line. 67 cents + shipping for the glasses.
Have the 4gb from earlier this year on woot fantastic quality easy to use bad: screen doesn't stand up to being shut in the car door. weird.
That's the best description I've read on this site yet.
anyone have a good econimical source for accessories for this and the 250? mainly needed are cases and scratch resistance/ also, anyone dwnld rockbox with last unit? how did that work out for you?
I got the e250r a while back and it's great, except I still can't figure out how to get rid of the rhapsody tunes that came loaded on it. I also picked up a brown zune and frankly I like the sansa better. It's a lot less bulky, the battery lasts a lot longer, and while the screen is smaller, it's brighter and clearer. It took about 16 minutes for the video utility to convert and load a 40 minute TV show that I had in MP4 format.
Well, how does the player play? All the rest is trivial... you can pick up a good pair of earbuds for under $10, and the "refurb (rox0rz!)" letters can easily be rubbed off with the right stuff. Plus, you shouldn't expect any packaging with OEM or refurbished items anyway, I can't remember the last time I received any refurbished product with retail packaging or accessories.... when you buy refurb (rox0rz!) that's a given.

I think you mean, "Like most posts made in the wrong forum."
It would be nice if they didn't put that damn metal stamp that say refurb (rox0rz!) on the back of your ish, but it is good otherwise. earphones my 2gb came with were absolute garbage, but nowadays everybody has 3 pair of decent ones so that doesn't matter too much either. I do have an issue with the OS reading straight ID3 tags instead of paying attenion to folders, if you make a mix and put it into a single folder, then move it to your player, it doesn't show up as an album you can play- it shows up as all the different artists and albums the tracks orignally game from..which sux0rs
I'm going to go broke on Woot this xmas, but I'll refrain from getting one for now. But I have no clue about next time .
Nice Buy! In for one... Should go nicely with the three 1Gb Sansas that will be here later today.
do you think that they'll put the 8gb one up anytime soon? cause i would prefer wooting that to this, but this is acceptable.
I also bought the 2GB last month for my 10 year old cousin for good grades. He's quite happy with it although he hasn't tried to add ad mini-SD card with it yet.

oh yeah and I'm pretty pissed off I got the 2 when a bunch of people ended up with the 6gb instead
Yaaaayyy, no SmartPost (aka StupidPost, FartPost, etc.)! Unless that damn "Shipped SmartPost" icon decides to magically appear out of nowhere, like it did, IIRC, for the e250 about a month ago.
