I picked up a few sets of these last time they were on here, and they're great fun. Everyone who walks into my office picks them up and plays with them, and many people have remarked how cool they are.

That said, it is worth noting that the Buckyballs CEO seems to be a bit of a jerk. Had I seen that story before buying mine, I probably would have elected not to support a company that participates in such petty threats.

These things are cool, but definitely not worth $30. Or $15. W/e.

Are these naturally colored, or are they painted? I'm worried about the color wearing off or peeling/chipping off.

Magnets: How do they work?

I just bought one of these a few days ago for a craft project. I'm going to combine them with slug screws to make the joints for posable polymer clay figurines that can be disassembled. 216 off Amazon cost me a little over $20 after shipping. If only I had waited a bit longer...

Bought them last time, buying them again - BE CAREFUL, even ADULTS feel compelled to put these in their mouth for some odd reason.

My boss uses these in meetings to indicate simultaneously that he is bored and that he is not paying attention. In that they are extraordinarily effective.

Woot I'd be in for three if you would include your highly accurate human analogue from your field test. Without that I just can't justify a purchase.

As fun as they look, I cannot bring myself to buy one. The sheer number of electronics and computer parts steer my decision to a resounding NO.

I have one recommendation for people thinking about buying these.

Buy spares.

I lost about 4 balls in the first week of having them and it was really annoying to not be able to put it back into a cube.

These have been great to have at work. And they've served as an excellent ice-breaker from time to time.

Not sure of the magnetic force of these little things but thinking you might have to try harder than that. =)

Bought these last time one for my daughter and one for my neice and they love them!! They can be quite creative in producing artistic dimensions.

I *JUST* paid $70 for both the Gold and Black sets on ThinkGeek, 2 weeks ago. It sucks that this sale's happening now... but it's so good, I bought another 4 sets just for the heck of it. Some people I know are getting some SWEET Bucky Balls for Xmas!
