Hey! The EyeClops Mini Projector really does look a lot like Wall-E, doesn't it?

It dances, too? Cool!

If you do lots of close up work or record shiny silver object, note that the gray model is best. The red and purple models WILL reflect colors on the subject; not cool depending on your purpose. I found this out while recording computer hardware replacement procedures - red-tinted chassis is confusing to the Field Service folks.

Hey! The Panasonic High Definition Mobile Camcorder really doesn't look a lot like Wall-E, it looks alot more like Hal 9000.

96/100 average alatest review. that's really good.

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

This review at pocket-lint says:

"On the plus side, the focus is consistently good with no obvious issues and the F/2.8 aperture lens means you can shoot quite comfortably at surprisingly low light levels. In heavy dusk you don't quite get that same crisp look but it's impressive enough to be getting anything at all. When all is completely dark, there is of course the option of the front light. It's obviously useless for anything more than a metre or so away, but it does make the unshootable shootable in that low-end compact camera with built-in flash kind of way."

That is followed by a video demo of a dark club.

I have to wonder about the color name, "Another Lonely Holiday Gray". Sometimes spending Christmas alone is the most wonderful thing you can do for yourself.

Of course, everyone knows (dysfunctional) families are the most fun you can have... ever. Wouldn't be without one.

I'm not sure (just a customer). You can try asking at service@woot.com

Paypal doesn't charge you extra.

Agreed - HDMI out would have been nice. Furthermore, you can't use your TV as a monitor while shooting video. Regarding the AV cable, the manual says "When this unit is connected to a TV during motion picture
recording, the recording will stop."

That's a great feature for when the photographer wants to appear in the video.

No internal memory at all? And doesn't come with a card? Interesting.

Looking at my Consumer Reports magazine for the December 2010 issue on Page 51 at the bottom table on Pocket Camcorders, the Panasonic HM-TA1 is 1 of 5 with a check beside it for being "Recommended" with Battery Life = 61 min. NONE won or had a check beside it for the "CR Best Buy" label.

Battery Life Confirmation of 61 minutes

Diff Web Site Reports Longer Battery Life = 91 min.

The lack of internal memory seems odd to me.

Skimmed the user manual, but couldn't find any mention of a closeup or macro mode.

Anyone know anything about that?

Looks good if the camera is perfectly still. I watched the other sample videos posted here. When the camera pans quickly left or right, the image seems to separate into thirds horizontally with the top third lagging and trying to catch up with the lower 2/3's. In other words, the image gets broken and jagged when panned. Am I the only one seeing this?

No HDMI, No Stereo Audio

Does anyone know its minimum focus distance? I'm trying to see if it's good enough to shoot a mobile phone at about a foot away.

Thanks.

I think it's all about keeping the cost down. This camera is handy and affordable - not feature-rich.
