It can take a bit for FedEx to get everything in their system, updated, and all that fancy stuff. Give them through Monday and you should see an update.

FedEx finally shows they received my package at almost 1am on Jan 15. That's a couple of days after the tracking number was generated. A bit slower than I've come to expect, but not worryingly so.

Now I start holding my breath for the 10 day SmartPost!

Or maybe not...

if you're the average person buying steaks from costco... wrap the unused meat in butcher paper and put it in a glad, pyrex or tupperware container and it will stay righteous for at least 3 months in the freezer.

if you backpack or canoe trip, this is a great thing. I bought this specifically for BWCA trips.

I'm going on a big camping trip this summer and looking forward to helping preserve meat this way. As soon as it arrives...

The tracking number says that my local neighborhood mail carrier has it in her truck to deliver today, along with the bluetooths (blueteeth?) that I ordered the day before!

Proudly WOOTing since May 2005 Have bought more junk than I care to think about.

I just got home for lunch break, sat down on the couch and heard a knock at the door. I proceed to open the door and see a nice big brown box with a delicious woot! logo.

The sealer is GREAT. I just opened it and sealed a 1cent dollar store plastic sandwich bag so tight it was amazing. This was a total steal and I cant wait to really test some decent bags and give this thing a real run.

It works instantly no heat up or prep time. Incredibly simple. The only thing is I didn't realize how hard I had to push to start it. Don't worry it does take a good press evenly on both sides once you do it the first time you totally understand. The hands free operation is GREAT. Once the bag seals you let go and it takes care of the rest. You push the open button and you can hear it release the seal and open.

A+ Very happy thanks woot!

Got mine in today. Already used up the 4 included bags. Thankfully the great big roll of bags I had ordered arrived yesterday.
Seems to work just fine.

Just got mine today and it is missing the removable (AKA cleanable) insert for the vacuum trough. Errrgggg, not a good thing!

Yeah it is supposed to make a noise. Are you sure you are using it correctly? :/

I am also missing the removable drip tray liner.

Also when its all said and done I could have found it on ebay for around the same price. It took way too long to get here. Oh well, it was still cheap.

I haven't tried their bags, but I've tried 5 or 6 times with cheap Dollar store bags and it doesn't vacuum, it just seals.

I'm getting frustrated and I don't want to waste any of the few bags they actually gave me.

bradcrc

quality posts: 10 Private Messages bradcrc

Ya, I tried that too... regular bags won't vacuum, they will just melt.

You have to use real ones because the texture inside lets the air escape.

now I just need more stuff to pack.

i wish there was a way to somehow adjust how much air it squeezes out of the bag. Some of my more delicate items get crushed. I love this thing already though!

Anybody else have trouble getting it started? I press hard for 30 seconds and nothing happens. Outlet works, plug doesn't appear to be damaged.

bradcrc

quality posts: 10 Private Messages bradcrc

you have to push down very very hard.

maybe sit on it if it doesn't work on it's own when pushing lightly.

Just to let everyone know I was a Target today and Target was closing out all the seal-a-meal roll bags. I got a box which contains 2 11"x18' rolls for $2.62 a box. I bought 5 boxes for my Rival. I hope they work!

thanks for the tip, I hope the target here is doing that.

though I just spent more on bags than I did on this sealer the day it arrived... I suppose I could always use more so long as it doesn't break.

FedEx SmartPost claims it was delivered, but no one in my office building has seen it... I would say this "sucks", but the problem is exactly that it doesn't.

There's delivered to the post office, then delivered to you. Final delivery is in the hands of the USPS and usually takes a day or two after Fedex gives it to them. If you don't receive it within the next day or two, getting in touch with service@woot.com would be a good move.

Did you know shirt.woot ships internationally? Get you some!

Yeah, mindlessly complain and ye shall receive: showed up about this afternoon. It didn't help that the FedEx rep said that the "delivered" indication meant that the USPS thought they had finished delivery! I'm excited to try this thing out tonight, though...

So this thing is supposed to be coming to KY and I was pretty excited about it being a deal and all and even went to the store after it shipped and decided to go ahead and get some things I'd want to vacuum seal. I have no idea why I did this as this is what my tracking looks like...to come to Kentucky...

So that's
Dallas to Atlanta (northward, yay!)
Atlanta to Chattanooga (getting warmer...)
Chattanooga to Memphis (wait...why would you go 6 hours directly west instead of continuing north? oh well, surely nashville or lexington is next)
Memphis to Atlanta (We, the Hitchhikers!?!? you went back to Atlanta? you've already been there!)
Atlanta to Atlanta to Atlanta to Atlanta...(*headdesk*)

Ugh NOOO I found it it was cause my autofill put in the wrong zip code! why autofill whyyyyyyy? This is what I get for just checking the address and city but assuming the zip code would have fallen in line with the rest of the autofill. My own damn fault and my vacuum sealer is probably going to float in limbo for forever!

I ordered this thing on 1/6. It got lost. They were going to send another one and I still haven't received anything it's 3/3. I get super pi$$ed every time I have some extra food that I want to freeze for the rest of eternity and I still don't have my sealer

Have you been in contact with service@woot.com recently? If not, it might be a good idea to ask them what's up (please provide your order number).

I rose in rainy autumn and walked abroad in a shower of all my days.

I did. Two emails. They said the shipper lost it. They have finally shipped another one on 3/9/11. We'll see if this one makes it.

I received mine. It worked GREAT four times and then the vacuum pump stopped working.

I called the 800 number on the instruction booklet. Rival/Sunbeam replaced it, no questions asked. All you need is the model number and they have you fax your receipt from woot over to them.

I got an brand spankine new UPGRADED model for free under warranty.

It is not often that I deal with a company with such great customer service. The new one has a built in holder and cutter for the rolls and an accessory port/hose to vacuum down the specialty containers for liquids!

WOOT rocks and so does Rival!

Man, I love this thing. I am so happy I didn't spend $150 at Costco for the whole FoodSaver kit. I did spend $40 there though to buy the good bags. It works really well and now I have much more confidence in my frozen food. And no more freezer burn. Yayy!
