I'm confused. How many items are being sold? If I buy one, how many items do I get. What's going on?!?

Glad to see that Woot has fantastic music taste.

These would go great on our upcoming Disney cruise. All I need is a small makeshift satellite dish antenna.

Weighs less than 4 pounds...

I think the Woot's product description meant 4 ounces

Does anyone else notice the grammatical error when they mention we don't get the iPhone or iPod?

I should get an iPhone or iPod for that.

Looks like iPhones and iPod Touch with iOS 3.0 and above support A2DP which means the Bluetooth version of this thing would work.

Field Test

Field test video above says you can link several Cy-Fi's together for a team ride so everyone is hearing the same tunes. Any Bluetooth fiends out there know how they are achieving that via A2DP (or otherwise)?

Or is it even true to begin with?

I would not trust the Amazon reviews. The verified purchase ones gave it LOW ratings. The glowing reviews, 90% of them, it is the only item they ever reviewed! They are fake reviews people. I would look elsewhere for reviews to compare it.

Meh...I'll stick with my Supertooth Disco which sounds fantastic, although I wouldn't mount it to my handlebars.

I need more...

I happen to own one of these (Bluetooth version in black) and I love mine. I use it every time I go bike riding. Keeps me entertained, plus I can play/pause my Android phone, and I can even pick up and answer via speakerphone when someone calls. A must-have for any cycling geek. I never go on super-long rides, but for my 2-3 hour cruises the battery has never died on me. Most media is loud enough, but I am at like 90% volume most of the time, so there's not a lot of room to spare, either. I mount my CiFi on my bicycle handlebars. OH, and this thing is stereo, too! I'm in for a second, for a back-up if nothing else. I paid $99 last summer for my first and even at that price it's been worth every penny.

I just checked eBay and these sell for about $85 new in the packaging. I'll go ahead and order two, sell one, and then decide if I want the other. I might end up ahead!

Perfect for biking, camping and backpacking, Cy·fi is the worlds first wireless sports speaker and it connects easily to an iPod to play music during any activity. The speaker's lightweight with a six-hour battery life and mounts easily on a bike or backpack with the included attachments. Keep you iPod in your pocket and easily change the track and volume from the speaker. It's a safe, convenient way to listen to music while riding. If your friends get their own speakers you can broadcast music to all of them from a single iPod. Don't worry is someone falls behind the pack, the wireless signal works from up to 30 feet away.

This is a feature of the Iphone version, ie the kleer technology. kleer is capable of multipoint transmission which is accomplished via the transmitter included for the Iphone. Thats why its listed under that version, and not the bluetooth version

Here's a review http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/cy-fi-wireless-sports-speaker-for-ipod/ that compares it to the iHome iH85 Cycler, which makes the same claim (i.e., you can sync up several for a team ride).

For some reason not having a replicable battery bothers me. Am I being an old foggy?

From the looks of it, they aren't using the Bluetooth version, they're using the Ipod version with their own 'patented wireless technology'. You can't use bluetooth that way normally, it's designed to be a point to point connection.

Also, that 'field test' really strikes me as more of a commercial.

I would think you'd be more of a geek than an old foggy if you're concerned about the battery not being able to replicate. That would have to be fairly new technology, I've never run across it... I'd love it if my AA's replicated. Take that energizer bunny

unksol, crab, silverfaux, and others - thanks for helping someone who didn't read the description by woot! I apologize.

So, we got an A2DP version and a Kleer version. I would like the ability to answer a call on the thing when one comes through.

The idea of a team ride with tunes all sync'd up would be a great feature for RAGBRAI, however.
