Yes, but can it run Crysis?

Decided my signature is obnoxious.

This will sell out quickly once it hits the android community. This thing is great once it's got the latest updates and even better after it's rooted.

The stock OS that comes with this is absolute junk, but rooting it is very simple and makes the device much better. By the way, it's hardware is comparable to the Moto Xoom and iPad 2.

Google Viewsonic gTablet roms to find all the info you need.

I'm probably out of the loop, but aren't tablets just glorified smartphones? I mean, how many gadgets does a guy need?

This would be the 1 of 2 cheaper tablets that features the Nvidia Tegra 2 T20 Dual cortex A9(1Ghz) processor.

It is also 1 of only 2 tablets that have 4 of 5 star ratings with over 60 reviews.

The other is the elocity a7 which I just picked up last week and am now wishing I hadn't.

This is now the cheapest dual core 1ghz tablet you can grab.

If anyone grabs this make sure you check out this site for possible mods/additions to the device.

3.4 on average via the Buzzillion reviewers. Not bad, but not great.

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

I would definitely buy one if they were $200 less!

FWIW, I have one. If you want a tablet, get this one. $100 off anywhere else right now.

Here's the deal, the default TnT interface blows. Go on the XDA Developers forums though and get the VEGAn- or TnTLite ROMs and install them, and you'll never look back. My biggest gripe is the screen doesn't have great viewing angles. Otherwise, the thing is a workhorse. Battery life is great (10+ hours), connectivity is good, weight is nice, and it's damn peppy. You're getting the same CPU as the Xoom as well. No GPS, which is a marginal inconvenience at best.

The good: The ViewSonic G Tablet is one of only a handful of Android-based devices offering a 10-inch screen at an iPad-besting price tag.
The bad: Adapting the smartphone OS to such a large screen requires many custom interface tweaks that fall short. Lack of official Google mobile services and Android Market limits potential. Many third-party apps don't work as expected.
The bottom line: The ViewSonic G Tablet carves out a unique niche among Android tablets, breaking away from the smartphone to become a type of domestic dashboard. Unfortunately, many key benefits of the Android OS are lost along the way.

Download any free PDF reader off the Android market and you can read them just fine.

I bought one from a brick & mortar a few months ago. Cost me almost $100 over what woot! has it on offer for.
Out of the box it is 'ok'. It'll do for most people. But the way to really get it to live up to its potential is to root it, flash it & customize the bejeezus out of it.

ViewSonic G-Tab specific on forum on XDA.

You can use either Adobe Reader or the Aldiko eBook reader app with no issues for PDFs. I use mine for eBooks frequently.

It's a little heavier than iPad 2 at 1.55lbs vs 1.33. But's its actually thinner than the iPad 2 .27" thick versus iPad 2's .34".

I'm asking, because I don't want to stay up all night researching the question: I use my Blackberry as a modem on my Windows machine, and I wonder if Blackberry Desktop manager will work in the Android OS?

It won't work with Netflix because Netflix uses Silverlight and that isn't supported on Android yet.

I believe you need the dock for all that. However, I don't know of Netflix working on Android based devices yet, be it this or something else.

~Less than half an inch thick (I am typing on one right now) I can't measure it exactly but its almost as thin as a smartphone

Edit: after using The Google: 0.54"

Was almost tempted. Then the "G-Market" instead of the Android market killed it for me.
