Looks like mixed reviews on QVC for iGo Green products. And I missed the bucket of chicken again.

As far as I know, it's not prone to overcharging. I have some sitting in my wall socket right now that have been charging for days simply because I don't know where else to put them without losing them. They just have the regular green light on the charger and no warning indications.

these batteries are useless. they only last about 2 hours and the chargers dont seem to charge properly. the packaging says it will take 2-4 hours to charge AA batteries, but the charger thinks it is done in 15 minutes. even if you continue to charge them, they still only last a fraction of the time they should. would not recommend or even give them away for free.

looks like we got another 47 minutes. back to calculus.

I couldn't find a single review on these. They seem to be a generic.

I prefer these myself. They cost more, but are easier to find in terms of replacements and come with AAA's too.

Costco near me is always selling them. rigt now, it is $25 plus tax. or $20 for an 8 pack of AA or AAAs

From what I've read, they have a 100% chance of leaking if you use a NiMH/NiCad charger. But since they are "the only rechargeable non-toxic" batteries out there, I suppose you can drink what comes out.

I got this last week in the mail from a previous woot-off. I haven't used them yet, but can't beat getting 4 extra batteries with this for only $9.99.

Anyone? Compare this product with the 40 Duracell Batteries you could get instead of this at the same price.

As a photographer I go through a lot of batteries. My current camera only takes NiMH batteries. And from personal experience, NiMH, though a little more than alkalines, last longer and have much less 'charge memory'. I would have purchased this twice if they were NiMH.

Just opened up my non-functioning yard lights, each one uses 2 of these Alkaline rechargeables - for $15 could get them all working again...

As a cat-rescuer of many, I am sorry for your loss. I have 2 that were abandoned when people lost their homes here, that don't really get along with my other cats, but I have such a sense or morality and responsibility when it comes to cats, I keep them anyway. Thinking of all the ones that I have lost over the years...I Do empathize with you. Hang in there.

SANYO eneloop Batteries are the best rechargeables on the market, but they are a lot more expensive than these - I paid $25 for a charger and 4 batteries. I don't know if these are any good, but for the price, even if they last a year, they're a better deal than regular alkaline batteries.

obob wrote:Hey, Woot - just in case you actually ARE amenable to suggestions made in this thread - how about giving demerits and post deletions to everyone posting in it who hasn't got anything to say ABOUT THIS SALE?

I'd really like to be able to read the user comments about the batteries and charger. Not 90% gripes from people who weren't able to get the previous item AND weren't smart enough to contain their comments to the appropriate thread.

I've never tried rechargeable alkalines, and I'd really like to know about their advantages and disadvantages, compared to other rechargeables.

There is this really cool thing called the INTERNET - and you can use it to look up ALL SORTS of information - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rechargeable_alkaline_battery

I got one last time. It switches itself off. Only used it twice and left it on overnight. No apparent problems.

I've got a question for the pro wooters; what's with woot changing the posts? I wrote out the letters Barrels of Crud (trying to avoid it from happening again) in a previous post, and it automatically changed it to something tired like "barrels of christmas" or similarly stupid.. I always though people were trying to be cute when that would show up in their posts, but I guess it's automatic? So woot can come up with a program that changes a comment, but can't keep the servers from crashing.

Out of the hundreds (or perhaps thousands?) of Bundles O' Carrots that Woot sends out, they still include something of real value in a handful of bags each Woot Off. These are the ones that get posted to YouTube and the ones that you get are just among the majority of Bags Of Crap that actually HAVE crap in them. Just sayin.

<--- Woot should also put a Bag of Cuuuuuute! icon next to each person's name; I've had at least 4 Bags over the last few years, always been happy with the contents, and typically 3-4 times the value of the purchase price.

Yes there is a word filter. If you click on the reply button you can see the original text. They have been doing this since long before I joined in 2006.

The only way to stop the servers from crashing is to not have a Barrels of Crud

Welcome to the forum filter. I'm not sure what flavor of forum they're running here, but it's not uncommon for forums to have filters to get rid of the "bad" words. Woot, in their infinite sense of humor, considers that Bee Oh Cee acronym or phrase to be "bad", so it puts humorous replacements in. I believe there are other words that are replaced too, but I can't think of them right now...

Filters are sort of a forum standard thing. One hasn't got a thing to do with the other, actually.

Though a pro-wooter (self proclaimed) with over 30 woots, but no "Blessings of Christmas" to my name....I too assumed that wooters were just making up funny names for "BӨC" - so I started on my own to do it when posting.....little did I know......

edit--just checked it on the site and evidently the original number changed. Looks like I will be getting it tomorrow
