Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

I'm pretty sure each answer was purposely problematic. That's what makes it funny.

Nevertheless, Wootonians, isn't this poll really more about grammar mistakes than spelling mistakes?

"should have" instead of "should of"

I couldn't vote because this was the first thing I saw, too! Should've would've been acceptable. Spelling should be a given but I find that less galling than grammatical errors.

Someday, somebody else, besides me, will call me by my stage name, they will call me Dr. Verm...

So much eror to process...

I just went with the first 1(yes, I was with the majority). Althought the literally versus figurtively choice of phrasing is always gud.
I think I sympathise with the "...twitch" comment the most.

(Do you know how hard it is to purposely misspell stuff? I had to go back and edit it after I wrote it...)

Spelling errors don't bother me as much as improper use of a word. e.g. Two, To and Too. Or Your and You're. There's or Theirs. I think the worst one I hear (not here) lately is "I seen Billy-Bob yesterday". SAW! The word is SAW! You SAW Billy-Bob you toothless mouth-breather!! Wow...I better go have some decaf.

Completing the error review.... "Literally" worse than violent crimes? Being a literal-minded person, I can say that this is not possible. And--it's different _from_, not different _than_.

Yes, these things drive me nuts. And they are everywhere. Good newspapers used to be arbiters of correct usage, but no longer. And books used to have actual editors. AARRRGGGHHH!!!

Sincerely yours,
The Grammar Police

I prefer spelling errors and typos to having a computer correct it to the wrong word.

I must see this error so often that it got by me this time. So annoying. Whenever I see spelling mistakes, I have reread the sentence 2 or 3 more times to make sure of the writer's intent.

Reading the comments is depressing. I always figured Wooters didn't need the Internet sarcasm font, but I was, apparently, quite wrong.

For those who still don't get it, each answer has an error in either mechanics or usage, and those errors are intentional. Duh.

Enjoying that none of the choices are spelling errors, but usage, grammar, or colloquial errors. Also bleeding internally because of how many people would have no idea.

Choice (A) contains a clasic mistake itslef. "Something that should of been addressed before I saw it".
Realy, "Something that should HAVE been addressed before I saw it". How outragious woot, compleatly outraigeous.

In order of least annoying to most annoying
1. the intentional spelling/grammar mistakes in the poll
2. the people who (possibly) didn't realize the mistakes were intentional
3. the people who didn't read in the comments the first two times a particular mistake was corrected, and therefore felt compelled to correct it themselves
