Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist?
Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed.
For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?
NBC Thursday nights and you didn't include Friends?!
I liked Outsourced a lot.
rjofham wrote:NBC Thursday nights and you didn't include Friends?!
Not to mention Cheers, Fraiser, The Cosby Show, My Name is Earl and of course the best of all time--Seinfeld.
Was Wings on Thursdays?
This is more like a poll of which slack show after seinfeld are you going to pretend is as good
New shirt.woot derby idea...Cosby Show Sweater!
Only the ones that were on before Hill Street Blues:
Buffalo Bob - The Slap Maxwell Story - Night Court
Maybe it's something about Megan Gallagher, maybe Ellen Foley. Maybe both?
I agree. "Friends" was the best. I think this poll should have been titled, "Which recent NBC Thursday night comedy ..."
You have to go back to the 80's and 90's for the "Must See TV" comedies on NBC . . . Cheers, Frasier, Cosby Show, Family Ties, Mad About You, and Seinfeld. People will say Friends as well but I never really liked it. The latter-day shows listed in the poll aren't even in the same league.
Cheers or Seinfeld HANDS DOWN!
Big Bang Theory on CBS blows them all away!
Wow. I don't even own a TV. Am I missing something? Sometimes I watch SNL on Hulu but overall I'd rather read a book.
I vote for The Cosby Show.
I liked Seinfeld (a lot), but you had to wonder: 'Is this comedy or irony? I'm just glad I'm not this neurotic.'
Invalid poll. Doesn't include Seinfeld, which is the correct answer.
I have to agree, poll is mistitled, should be which "current" or "recent" show - To leave out Cosby Show, Night Court, Cheers, Seinfeld, Friends... all of them hands down better (and I didn't even like Friends or Seinfeld).
They're current NBC, who is in the cellar in the Big Four. Two weeks ago, a TBBT rerun beat American Idol!
I timeshift the NBC Nightly news and watch it after TBBT because the current 2.5 Men sucks the dog. That's when I shift back to the national news.

Not sure how that's relevant to NBC; American Idol is a Fox show.
I had to do a web search on what TBBT meant. I sometimes watch TV. Mainly hockey and some documentaries, about the only "regular" show I watch is Mythbusters.
ITT: People who haven't seen Community.
Seinfeld, Seinfeld and Seinfeld

I loved that show too. Bummer they canceled it.
Shocked how few of you voted for parks n rec. have you ever watched it?
I know I spend my time on a different kind of part of the internet, but this thread got weiiiiiird.
I've actually been impressed how NBC has stood by a bunch of critically acclaimed and lukewarmly watched shows. I miss Liz Lemon already, but I'm sure she's (trying to be) happy wherever she is.
I think they mean what shows are on now.
NB(Comcast)C who??? they should give up now.. watch CBS
I have never seen an episode of any them. I *think* I would possibly enjoy The Office, but I can't get past the shaky cam.
30 Rock is too insane for words.
It's all nothing but crap of the highest order
Some of you guys are showing your age! While I agree Seinfeld is the best comedy TV has ever had, NBC Thursday or otherwise, I'd rather watch any of the shows in the poll than The Cosby Show, Night Court, or Cheers. Fraiser was good. I never liked friends but I realize I'm alone in the universe on that one.
jeparz wrote:Wow. I don't even own a TV. Am I missing something? Sometimes I watch SNL on Hulu but overall I'd rather read a book.
lol, there's always one.
wphughes1 wrote:NB(Comcast)C who??? they should give up now.. watch CBS
I only turn on cbs for Sunday edition. Otherwise I couldn't even tell you what's on and when it's on. 90% of my shows are on cable. I'm ok if the big four just disappeared.
Anybody who doesn't like any of these shows is automatically suspect. (Aside from "The Office," which I can take or leave.)
And it's disappointing that "Community" has such a low amount of people voting for it. The latest season isn't as great as it used to be, but it's still amazing.
You missed a prime response:
"ALL TV situation comedies are: a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?
LAUGH TRACKS SUCK PRIMORDIAL OOZE!
30 rock is/was consistently good. They also get a bonus point for having Paul Reubens guest star in an episode.
THANK YOU FOR COMING TO MY BIRTHDAY PARTY!

NBC should move those shows to Fri or Sat they are no competition for CBS on Tues or Thurs, Sunday and Monday Fox has it and Wed its ABC
I'm in this camp, but I think they could've done just a TAD bit better with catching the cultural breaches and letting the characters grow just a little bit. (For example - the main character finds out the hard way that patting people on the shoulder is an intimate expression. He doesn't really take it into account in episodes that followed.)
The whole thing could've been done a little better - although I liked their backlot India, it really wasn't the real thing.

Yeah, I was sad to see the season finale. I also found it a little weird that Liz and Jack never got together. (Averted/Subverted a HELL of a lot of times, but still...)
