Some previous Woot Watches... As though they haven't sold enough ugly watches. =)

Related Item 1 | Related Item 2 | Related Item 3

Not a bad deal from what I'm seeing. To woot, or not to woot... Personally I'll wait for a woot off!

PS: Was it just me or was there a server crash issue? =P

Love you Woot.

Just an educated guess: since it gets the time from the Atomic Clock system, the DST will be correct - it just changes on the day the Big Clock changes...

The atomic time signal in the US accounts for DST. No matter what changes are made to DST in the future, this watch should always be up to date.

Oh my... who would want to be seen with that around their wrist? I think the only way to make it worse would be to add a calculator onto it.

Even 6 dollar watches from walmart look better than this.

But no one even uses watches anymore anyway. You ask someone the time and the first thing they do is whip their cell phone out.

Fossil watches can be resized for free in their stores. Just walk in and ask them nicely and they'll do it right in front of you.

I don't think most people use their watch when its not on wrist, especially not far away. Once again I ask, Are you a five year old?

Edit: It does use "batteries". But most likely only one.

You all know it's for the goverment to track your daily movement!. It is how they know where you are, and what you do until they start using more implant features.

Does it play "Dixie"?

I had one of those, bought it off a TV ad in 1981 or so for about $49, which was about a third of the price of a red vac display watch (or LED maybe, cant remember) in 1978.

Nice clear display, it seems, but mehh...forget it. Nothing special

I have one, which I wear to work. It's kinda ugly, but it keeps time well, has a large display and buttons and it's pretty durable. It's not a Fossil watch though.

Not bad for twenty bucks if you're looking for a cheap watch that you can wear while hiking or something along those lines.

"Atomic" means it receives radio signals that give the time according to a central, highly accurate, atomic clock. It has nothing to do with powering the watch. The watch itself must use batteries (a) because all Fossil watches do, (b) because we don't want unlicensed nuclear power plants on our wrists - because of their weight, if for no other reason - and (c) because, per the specs, it has a "low battery indicator." Low battery indicators are not useful on devices without batteries, so they are typically not provided on them.

The NIST clock doesn't change with DST, but you're still right. I did a bit of research and discovered they broadcast a flag when DST is in effect. So WWVB-receiving clocks *should* use the new dates automatically, as long as the clock uses the radio signal and not its internal calendar for DST.

I tried to get excited, especially since I desperately need a watch. But reading reviews on this watch really doesn't thrill me. Poor time keeping? Great, so it can set itself, but if I gotta take time out of my day to re-set a watch, I'll have to keep using my cell phone as a time keeper.

Auto DST (daylight saving time)

Was this watch patched for DST or is this something that the watch reads from the time signal?

Anyone know how the watch knows when congress approves different DST rules?
