Awesome new band called Sublingual. Progressive hard rock, good stuff. Just google SublingualBand (and no, it's not my band!)

ELO fan here. I think their best was A New World Record, although the case can be made for Face The Music and Out of the Blue. I believe they were the band holding the dubious distinction of most singles charted without getting a #1.

Is anyone still looking? No? Good! I just wanted to say that I love pretty much all these bands but I never understood the appeal of Rush. Did he really intend to sing every song the same, with no variation in tone, ever?

ggfan wrote:1970-'77 Gentle Giant = The most talented, versatile & astounding band, prog or otherwise, ever. ELO & Supertramp = not really Prog. Caravan = Canterbury Scene.
Other great Prog bands:
Premiata Forneria Marconi (PFM), Happy the Man, Camel, Renaissance, Pierre Moerlen's Gong, Mahavishnu Orchestra. Return to Forever = Jazz/Fusion but one of the great bands of all time!

Oh, and Emerson,Lake & Palmer not even on the list???

Gentle Giant! Hell yes! Having seen them live on multiple occasions in the past (yes I am that friggen old!) nothing else even remotely compares.

And Camel has one of my all time favorite guitarists, Andy Latimer, and the late Pete Bardens on keyboard.

Brand X also deserves consideration, as well as Van Der Graff Generator.

The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles, and Fripp

The Nice

Whoever put this poll together doesn't appear to like music.

Actually, I preferred The Move, Jeff Lynne's band prior to ELO, and actually the Move was the first to record Do Ya! They rocked!

How's about the Dixie Dregs?

Or Jerry Goodman?
