Just upped my order from 1 to 3 - because I was stupid to only buy 1. $6.99 for a monkey?!? Com'on! But $3.66 for a monkey? That's a deal!

Read my blog or, you know, don't. It's up to you.

They did a few years back. Unfortunately, I never bought a set. I figured they were going to be a regular thing. I remember a woot-off ending with selling the lights. They went from being in the page to being on sale. When they sold out there were no more lights and that ended the woot-off.

Good lord, was I the ONLY one having fun with this woot-off?

I haven't ever been able to grab a Brigade of Campers and frankly, I've kind of given up. XD It's been fun to watch the overrepresented Brigade of Campers Criers (while I do feel their pain, I know I'll never get one, so it's more schaudenfreude than anything) and lol at the string of media items that came through. I could've probably done with more MP3/audio devices and less headphones, but you gotta get rid of what you gotta get rid of!

I actually enjoyed this Woot-Off more than the past few Baked-Okra- Cakes-filled Woot-Offs.
I don't come here for said cakes (granted I'll certainly take a shot if they show up) and most of the stuff that Woot typically sells I have no use for.
What I come for is the occasional RANDOM fun item. I don't usually buy anything, but I can't wait to get my skitterbot.
Buckyballs, Desk Pets, Glow Sticks...lol that's the stuff I go for. :P

The fact is, Woot! does owe us something. Consumers are THE driving force behind Woot!'s business. While I don't have any numbers, I would venture to guess that a majority of the purchases from Woot! come from members who comment in the forums. Sometimes Woot! has great items, sometimes it is junk. But, often, during Woot-offs, members of the Woot! community purchase these "junkier" items in support moving on to the next item and ultimately achieving the opportunity to purchase a "bag-of-crap".

Giving credit to Woot!, it appears the quality of the Brigade of Campers has gone up in recent months, but there's no denying that the lack of regular opportunities to not just purchase a "bag", but to enjoy typical Woot! purchases that grew Woot! to the reputation is has to day, is certainly off-putting to the longtime Wooting community. The individuality of Woot! has directly led to the success to date, and the recent lack thereof has recently let down it's most loyal supporters.

Whether you think it's right or not, the standard has been set, and there are expectations to be met.

You are 100% correct. A classic experiment placed rats in two different cages. In one cage the rat got a treat each time it pressed a bar. It the other cage the rat got a treat after pressing the bar a random number of times... sometimes once...sometimes after 10 or more presses. Then they stopped giving treats to both rats. The one press/one treat rat stopped trying for the treat very quickly... after only a dozen or so presses. The "random press rat" continued to press the bar thousands of times. We are nothing more than Woot Rats and will return to press the bar for the Bee oh Cee treat because we're never sure when we're going to get it. I'd hoped to become more than a Woot Rat, but apparently this is my fate... along with the rest of you rats. LOL
