don't buy it, it's a waste of $$$$, pay little more to get something much better.

yessir! As long as they're both Windows XP, you can set up an ad-hoc network between the two. Microsoft 'Internet Connection Sharing' and 'File and Print Sharing' will take care of the rest (with a little bit of coaxing).

yes, but you'll probably want a router inbetween. that seems like the easiest way to share the internet without trying to explain how to set your computers up directly like he said ^^ Wink

What do you suggest then?

Do you have to have a broadband internet connection to be able to network your home computers? (I knwo this is a stupid question, but I just wanted to make sure)

No, you don't need an internet connection at all to network your home computers. You can use a broadband router for this even if you don't have broadband (deceptive name, huh?)

Well you have a card that fits into the laptop PMCIA slot
You can have a PCI card that fits into the slot on your motherboard (with the antenna sticking up like a tail on your PC)
This is a USB adapter that will fit into the usb slot on your PC or Laptop.
Does that help?

Yes, it does, thanks!

If you live near Elizabethtown, you could buy a bass. That's what I did when I went to Elizabethtown...

So what if that's the only reason I went there? By the way, for those that remember, yes I do live around DC, and yes I did go on a trip that far just to buy a student model bass, but I got a damned good deal on c.1930s Juzek plywood.

No, if you are willing to learn a bit, this is all that you should need to network the 2 computers. If you can still deal with dialup, you willl love the lightning fast speed of these powerpuppies ;-)

sweet deal, woot. I'm not really sure if I need one of these...but I figure I can sell the other one on eBay and come out on top! Plus, I like the idea of a 'backup' wireless link for the omnifi that I'm going to install one of these days...

say, anybody reading have one of those? My aftermarket MP3/CD player just died...I can't install the omnifi without a separate head unit, right?
