How many do you suppose they have to sell?
A couple dozen?

Or might it be a special one-day deal with InFocus?

Ha ha. As it happens I was looking to get an HD set sometime in the near future. $2,500 (with $5 shipping?!) was just too good to pass up. When I saw A) how big it is B) how cheap it was (relatively speaking) and 3) how big it is I'd prety much made up my mind. Froogle's quotin atleast $5,000 for this puppy. Now all I need is surround sound and I can play life sided counter-strike! Now where will it fit....

*YAY* Fred!!!! You Da Man!!!

Great deal on a sweet TV! I am sure you will enjoy it!

I bet you could find some shades that block your peripherial vision so ALL you see is the screen! HA!

Either that, or sit too close and let Mom yell at ya Haha!

Actually, the description says:

At just 6.85” deep

So it is only half that deep!!!

Agreed, this is a tremendous deal, and the $5 shipping just makes it better. I'd buy one in a heartbeat, but I'd have to sell the 52" LCOS HDTV I bought just under a year ago (for $3K). Lessee, if I sold the JVC for $1500, and got the $500 rebate on the InFocus, then the upgrade would only cost me $1000... I'll sleep on it, but probably pass.

2 questions for woot:

1. Is the base included?
2. Is woot an "authorized dealer?" (Needed for the rebate) I assume woot is, because it's pretty clear woot is getting these directly from InFocus! Still, have to ask...

This is actually selling pretty fast. I'm surprised. I've seen at least 6 different names on the product stats page, and that only updates once a minute....

Curious as well. I'm guessing that it will include a small stand like the one pictured here:

Second edit: ALSO, why is the image on the main woot page different than all published images of the 61md10?

i wonder if anyone will buy it, and ebay it? i mean, i sure as heck would if i had the 3k$ right now, then throw it up (well really gently set it) on ebay in a minute... then i'd have more money for other woots, and that video card i want... ohhhh pretty graphics!

The only problem is that this is a big package and who knows how well it would hold up transporting it twice. The rebate and warranty are only good for the original purchaser. (bad on infocus!!) Most of us who resell them are just turning them around for a small profit but infocus seems to have a problem with that for some reason.

Um, aren't a lot of rebates this way in that you need an original store receipt from a specific store (i.e. Circuit City) even though they are from the manufacturer?
