Now that lasers are all around us, they sure seem boring, huh? Instead
of harnessing their awesome power to blast away at stormtroopers, we're
satisfied with crisp computer printouts, making little red dots dance
on our co-workers' foreheads, and the occasional eye surgery. Thank God
that Obi-Wan isn't around to see this.
Take us back to a time when lasers meant fun, when they were an
essential part of the intergalactic war effort, when the good guys
effortlessly sliced robots in half with gaily colored beams of pink and
green. Take your favorite futuristic movie scene or poster and insert
the Dell 1700N in a creative and visually striking way. It doesn't have
to involve laser, we guess, but laser-oriented entries will win a few
extra points. And yes, all you Battlestar Galacticons and Babylonians
5: you may use images from TV shows.
As you are well aware, prizes are $20/$50/$100 for 3rd/2nd/1st. The
rules and criteria for winning: We can make stuff up as we go along.
Use Photoshop, pen and ink, collage, MSPaint, or whatever you like. Try
to keep your maximum width to 450px. You can use whatever you’d like to
make your image, but you’ll only get judged if it’s visible in our
forums as a jpg, gif, or png. As always, if you need a place to host
your pictures, try http://www.imageshack.ws. We have no connection to them, but they seem free and easy to use.
