And the good thing about that is that we likely WON'T see these in the next WOOT OFF! (Except for the few the woot staff held back for themselves and later decided they didn't want)

This watch has that retro look to it. Some people are into it, some aren't. I got one.

Nothing says that I’m totally out of touch with style like watch does. Hey, maybe I’ll get one of these very dated watches and go hang out at the old peoples home. Maybe I’ll get lucky with some hot 90-year-old broad.

Fine! Dang peer pressure making me buy a watch that probably won't fit my wrist anyhow. Oh well, that's what my wife gets for letting me keep the credit card.

...and the watch will make this woman want you? This was a pretty rude post. If you're lucky you'll live to be 90 yourself. Quit dissing someone's mom. Jeez. Either by the watch or don't.

The NIST clock doesn't change with DST, but you're still right. I did a bit of research and discovered they broadcast a flag when DST is in effect. So WWVB-receiving clocks *should* use the new dates automatically, as long as the clock uses the radio signal and not its internal calendar for DST.

You're correct. I have a WaveCepter watch I got on Woot, and unlike my VCR and VDR, it made the correct adjustment for DST this year. And unlike this watch, my WaveCepter isn't so butt-ugly that I'd be embarrassed to wear it in public. Unless I was attending an 1980s-theme party. It would fit right in there.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... I don't see seconds on the face. Maybe I'm missing them. Still, without seconds, atomic accuracy is not really needed.

I don't think a 90 year old broad would be turned on by this watch!!

It's a TIMEPIECE, ferchrissakes, not a fashion statement! It's an extremely accurate timekeeper that admirably exemplifies the maxim that form follows function. It fulfills a prosaic function, and its looks reflect that fact.

Get over yourselves.

I can't really blame anyone. I'm sure the parts alone are worth it. It could make a great mod project. Wall/Ceiling projection Atomic Alarm Clock maybe? Fusion Generator, wait, nm.

Interestingly, AFTER the item has sold out, somehow posts related to woot-off's are being deleted by mods? Why? The item is SOLD OUT. The forum has NO BEARING on sales of the item anymore. Why not allow for woot-off speculation?

Do I think it's soon. of course not. But why would someone else's post speculating that it would be on May 5th get deleted? Or the one speculating it would be tonight (snort!)?

Mods just trying out their mad mod skillz?

Just to be on topic - I had a use for this watch, but came in too late to get it. Having accurate time is necessary for me, and I've been looking for an atomic clock watch. This would have been a good price... and it's big enough to start conversations!
