Very true. Quite a few out there for $40.

But since dual layer blanks are going for about $3 a pop, and you can get 8x single layer blanks for about 25 cents, I doubt too many people are actually burning dual layers at this point.

Hmmm, my computer doesn't have anythign for DVD format in it yet . . .

I don't want to spend a lot of money on a DVD drive . . .

I don't need that much storage space, so I won't be burning 8 DVD's in the course of a day, more like maybe one/week, so speed isn't a factor . . .

I just want something functional and cheap.

Forgot about the handling fee.

Doesn't come with any software at all, btw.

I use Nero and DVD Shrink.

The feeding frenzy over tech like this is kind of interesting. newegg will sell you a brand new, much faster, +/- compatible burner from a better manufacturer for about $18 more. I guess if you are on a really tight budget, this might be a good deal, but I can't imagine most people wouldn't benefit from spending the extra cash.

This DVDRW drive didn't come with Driver. Is anyone help me finding it?

Win XP straight plug and play on mine.

No driver download necessary. Didn't even give me new hardware wizard. Just told me it found it and then that it was installed. Works fine for me.

Thanks, I will try it on XP machine. I was trying on Win2000 computer.

I still have not received mine, and woot hasn't responded.

This is the first woot I've purchased, and I'm starting to lose faith.

They just redeemed themselves and shipped it, fyi.
