howcross wrote:OK, I know you all are too ribs to buy this... but what about for a computer-literate parent who already has a tv and radio in the kitchen... this could replace both. Also, with Internet access, they could use Google apps, Apollo stuff, all the Web 2.0 online applications, Web-based desktops, and so on, right? Though you cannot add software to the unit, you can use anything on the Internet... and there's a lot more out there than there used to be.
Am I crazy? Well... that's really a different question, I guess ... what I mean is: Do you think this would be good for the target audience i described? My Dad is very interested in new computer technology, and might get a kick out of having a computer he could set up with all online apps and such.
Your thoughts?
the latest firmware update, according to another message, allowed for using this as a remote desktop for a windows xp pro-based computer in the same network. So if he's got one of those in the house also, great. Hopefully this comes with the pcmcia nic that the manufacturer says it shipped with, or else you will have to buy a card to get it on your network.

What's funny is there are a bunch of people trying to put the genie back in the bottle - believe they can somehow control the spread of her track images on the web. It's not the oogling that bothers that girl...it's the fact she doesn't have an agent yet.
I respectively offer my services as Agent to this young lost lass...
