Has anyone seen internal views of this thing? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the pan and tilt guts for a project of mine.

edit - oy!

I really wish the government computers didn't prevent me from installing software ... I mean I'm in the military and this is a rocket launcher - it'll be great for morale!

With a little after-market elbow-grease, it appears this is Wiimotable, too!

The important question is if this will fire the arrows with enough force to set off a screaming monkey...

Because if it does, not only will I have to get one, but I will also be forced to fabricate a monkey-sized blindfold and last-request cigarette. You're sick, Woot. SICK!

I've got the ThinkGeek model, slightly different from the one pictured. It works with Mac, although I had to download a driver somewhere.

Will this get me on the WootBot post????

Now the initial excitement over novelty and the process of buying has worn off, I've realized this is going to be the best thing ever for about 10 minutes.

Oh well, it will be a really kick-@$$ ten minutes, for sure! I've already began plotting who will be the first victim: I've got a certain project manager in mind, although someone from the web team might do fine.

hehehe

Is there a booster drop-off safty zone required?

Does it come with a KKD? (Kinetic Kill Device?)

Where is the Near Infrared Seeker Head?

Does it have an NSN?

Is this covered by the SALT treaty? What about PEPPER?

There are applications out there on the web that will let you use a Mac to fire this ribs little toy. Just do a Google seearch. So, having discovered that, I can't wait to terrorize people with my Powerbook! I just put my order in. :-)

I want to buy one but I can't use my free shipping code. I won two honorable mentions a few weeks ago and haven't used either of the free shippings. Anyone know whats going on? It's telling me its not a valid coupon code.

Does the "fast rate" even matter when you only have 3 missiles?

I think a much better use for this is to strap a webcam to the front of it to create a cheap DIY pan/tilt camera with what looks like a VERY good range of motion compared to actual P/T cameras. You could probably control it remotely using a Remote PC application/service like logmein.

Way of Mass Distraction (from work)

*Thinking*.... These things would crash the servers in a Woot-off.... My guess is that a good 25% of these will be converted into other "useful" USB devices once they have lost their ribbiness as a rocket platform. But I may be wrong... I bought 2 and plan to dissect one of the buggers...

I watched the entire last wootoff for this thing hoping by chance it would appear but no such luck...I'm glad its here now and not $40 as its listed on a lot of sites. The plan is to attach a webcam and make my own sights for it. Then later in the evening when I'm home and the student workers are slackin, I'll remote desktop in and peg them from across the room letting them know we're still keepin tabs
