Luckily, the whole family fell asleep on the couch until around 1:15 am. I woke up, sent them to bed, checked Woot, realized how amazingly useless, yet intriuging this was, and bought 3. Now mind you, one will probably go to my brother for Father's Day, but someone's already taken my webcam/laser-pointer idea. HOWEVER.... Woot Monkey's hands will soon be duct-taped to the damn rocket launcher as well... MWUAHAHAHHAHAHA! He'll be in charge of my office SAM site - WOOOOOOOOOOT!

Does this fire regular nerf gun darts? I sure hope so because we probably have 200 darts around my department at work.

Wonder if I could attach a webcam to it and some servos to the base so I could view and control it all from my desktop (or remotely).... I know I could probably do the hardware, but I doubt I could pull off the code....

Been done already. read the posts. Someone already posted a link to a site with it. (no need for servos on the base. Already has a motor controlled by the USB cam and if used with software you could program it to spot changes in images to target.

Hmm..haven't gotten the tracking number for this Woot yet. Anyone else in the same situation?

Never tried the software that came with it.

Works as advertised, from the sounds it makes I don't think it will last long. Has a "cheap plastic and motor" sound.

I plan on giving them as Christmas presents to some guys who work for me... *if* I can control myself and not play with them.

PS~ If you have an iSight, I highly suggest turning it on while running this program...just a little velcro and you'll be good to go!

when i try to launch mason's "smartlauncher", i get an application error. Anybody else getting this error?

ahhhh...looked up the error code..seems that i need to install .net ...

ok, the .net download and install worked.. the mason software is good, but there are no sound effects like the original software!!!

Got mine today, wish I'd ordered 3, cube neighbors are afraid and jealous. Windows XP machine:

Included software works terrible, buttons and graphics don't line up, movement is restricted and cluncky. Sounds are darn funny though.

Downloaded newest release from manufacturer, 2.0.0.7, graphics kind of jive, still cluncky movement.

Looked on the forum, grabbed the stable (1.2a) software from http://www.antmason.com/wiki/index.php/SharpLauncher
as others have posted, installs easy, moves very nice, no sound.

I'll try the unstable versions, also grabbed the source code, I'll post if I can come up with something to bring the sound back.

Not sure what's going on but my doesn't look like it has even been picked up for shipping. FedEx site says: "Package data transmitted to FedEx" as the status but it has an Estimated delivery of Today. Just wondering those that got theirs so far, what does your package tracking say?

my tracking worked fine this time, but there have been times when Fedex didn't update it until it was on my doorstep. I'd say don't worry about it for another day or so

For some reason the CD that came with mine was completely blank O_o. Does anyone know of a link where you can download the manufacturer's software online?

In the meantime, I dl'd the antmason launcher and that totally works. My coworkers now look at me with a mixed look of fear, disapproval, and jealousy. It's great! I'm hoping to start an arms race.

Has anyone tried with a webcam? That looks like the way to go.

I got mine yesterday and it is ribs. Installing the updated software will help with making the movement smoother.

Btw, this is the shadiest delivery from Woot ever. It was dropped off by some dude in a rental van. Creepy.

I concur that the included software is awful. Go for the AntMason software - the controls are very fluid. I also like the option of being able to prime the next shot and then instantly firing whenever you desire.

My son is upset that I only ordered 1 - he is now dreaming of a multiple battery array.

Mine made it yesterday. One of the tail fins was already off. But it doesn't affect the missles direction at all.

So, how long should this be sitting in "Package data transmitted to Fedex" before I should start to get worried? It's been sitting there since Monday afternoon, and I'm wondering if it's time to contact Woot. Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, me too. Mine said yesterday the estimated packaged delivery date was June 21st. Today the date is gone and it STILL has the status of "Package data transmitted to FedEx". Time to notify Woot? I guess I have to postpone my plans for an office cue!

For those of you that having simialr problems like me where you have received
your tracking information, but it still gives you no information except for some
thing that says that the data has been sent to them, Go ahead and take Gatzby's
advice and use the reference number you have on your tracking number to "track
by reference". After doing that, I found out that my packagae has two tracking
numbers and the one I have been looking at has not been the one doing the
tracking.

Huh. That's how I got the tracking number originally, before I got the email from woot. At that time there was only. Emailed woot, though, and they emailed back that my launchers do indeed have two tracking numbers, and were delivered today, so they should be waiting for me on the porch when I get home!

Dammit, and I have papers to write this weekend, but now I'm going to be distracted by torturing the cats with nerf missiles...
