anybody get one of these the first time around? if so, how is the sound quality and does it get pretty loud?

I'm gonna wait until someone posts about how this is a bad deal because you can create your own 2.1 system for less money using an old laptop & misc parts from a washing machine.

These are awesome speakers. I bought a lot when woot had the 2fer tewsday.

Use one for my comp and one for my mp3 player.

If I recall correctly from the last time these were on Woot, these are surprisingly decent.

Yeah - for travel speakers, they're pretty good. And they inflate, which impressed the peasants...

They just demo'd these on DL.TV and for the size they sound pretty good. I picked up one.

How do these sound compared to the Logitech portable speaker? This looks like it would have a fuller range.

I had two of them and never got either one of them to even open, let alone make a peep. I gave up.

I read some reviews , they say the batteries only make it last two hours.

I have a couple of these from past Woots. I like them. They are good for a secondary laptop speaker system on the road, for an office environment, or just by the bedside. I plug my mp3 player into it at home and work.

They arent going to rock the house but it sounds good and looks ribs and a lot less mess to deal with in hooking up and carting around. I did notice last camping trip it burned through some batteries pretty quick but my normal use is to have it plugged in somewhere so I cant say thats the norm.

$5 more at amazon. sounds like these are decent as far as portable speakers are concerned though, but thats not saying much

Bought two last time they were around. Good sound - enough for an average room.

I guess that by expanding, it's creating a baffle for itself. How does this sound in comparison to the JBL stuff?
