Oh woot. You funny, funny woot. Got my crap today. Last one really was c-r_a+p so I had high hopes for something better this time.
Well.... I got my red backpack, black snack daddy ufo and a junior executive attache toy, then, THEN.....
Could it be? YES! A Yukai PVR-H240 personal media center as seen here:

Woo hoo! Excitement fills the house for every bit of 5 minutes, then I remember... this is woot.
Wife grabs the box and opens it. Definitely used, she says, while pointing out a large dent/gash on one corner where it's obviously been dropped from an altitude no electronic device should ever be dropped from.
She digs further and finds a scuzzy set of in-the-ear headphones that really, really look used. While she's throwing the ear plugs across the room and throwing up in her mouth, I try to turn the unit on. We have picture! Woohoo again! An EA (electronics arts?) frame from one of their football games. Go Green Bay Packers!
Then "initializing" appears at the top, and stays, and stays, and stays some more, until the unit eventually turns itself off. I go through this process several times while trying to press buttons to keep it from timing out. Also tried the whole paperclip reset several times.
Meanwhile, back at the box my wife has found the power adapter. Hey, this looks funny. Uh, it wouldn't if we were in Europe. It's one of their plugs. Then, putting two and two together, she mumbles something about French ear wax.
Web has been no help and it's getting late so I'll have to play another day. Not a lot of hope, but even if this is a brick, still... BEST WOOT CRAP EVER. Thanks woot!
p.s. My wife also thanks you for not sending another Rat Fink.
(my apologies to all French wooters - it was just the first country that came to mind - really, I'm sure your ear wax is lovely)
