Yep, we’re making it up on the back end, just like a fast-food joint selling you those high-margin fries and sodas with your 99-cent burger.

If they're not making money on the Zunes then I guess they don't really care if they sell them or not. But that would REALLY defeat the point of selling them at all... The big question is, would giving credit for one Zune for previous buyers hurt their "margin" on the "free" travel pack?

I bought a Brown one last time and it was so great, I just bought 3 more; 2 Black and 1 white as gifts for my kids. When they saw mine they all wanted one of their own. Several iPod using friends of mine are also switching to Zunes. I have have been testing my battery life and I am getting over 12+ hours listening to music with the wireless turned off.

My kid plays with his zune everyday. I use mine at work. yes it is a little bigger than a ipod but with paying only a 100 buck, I like two please. Oh by the way I just bought two more. WOW, what would that have cost if I had bought 4 - 30 gig ipods? TOOOO MUCH!

can anyone please comment on the quality of the refurbs? i never bought a refurb (rox0rz!) product from woot before and id like to hear some feedback? are the screens scratched? does it come with used headphones? (yuck) are the batteries practically useless? does woot have a return policy?

Popped my Woot Cherry... and got some Christmas shopping done at the same time. Thanks WOOT! A coworker recently bought the Zune and loves it, so I figured, what the heck.

I picked up the brown zune a few weeks back. My husband liked it so now I have ordered him the black one.
We are living proof that even geezers will move into the digital age if the price is low enough.

With BF coming next week, I can only imagine the price drops then. I'll be that BB and CC will have similar deals but on a per unit basis. I'll wait.

I saw the new Zunes last week at WalMart, which is making it clearer why all the flurry of closeouts and refurbs are happening now. The new ones look really nice-very thin, shiny, nice big screen, and they now have a nano type 4 gig tiny one. Looks like the new styles might be a serious contender for some Apple business, but they also make the old ones look very clunky.

Does anyone know if I can use this Zune over in Germany? My laptop does both 110 and 220...how does that work with something you charge over USB thru the computer? I just want to make sure I don't fry the Zune...or do I need some kind of converter?

Considering how often woot offers Zunes, they surely must have major kinks that go wrong at an excessive rate. Does anyone know the repair rate of the Zune vs the Ipod?

Finally ordered one of these. Too cheap to keep passing by.

I would buy one if they will consider my $99 black zune as one purchase and include a AV pack.

your zune uses USB port to charge, so I dont see why you will not be able to use it anywhere in the world.

Why does it always have to be refurbished? Is WOOT the only place to unload these refurbs??

Bought three of these. How do we replace batteries when they die and are out of warranty? Microsoft said they will replace battery if it is still under warranty.

Had one Hated it. Try Creative zen W. Has radios recorder videos pictures and music and daytimer. Costs more but great unit.

Bought two black ones for $99. One was sent back 2 weeks ago for repair. No sound at all. Still haven't received it back. Battery only last 4 hours on the other one if I'm lucky. Both had the last persons music and videos. If I did it again I'd buy the new brown ones at Amazon and put a cover on them. Don't think much refurbishing has been done to these that Woot is selling.

I got the brown zune but they had run out so they sent me a black one. I was instantly addicted. I never had a mp3 player before. I got all my music on it and am now spoiled and can't live without it. Thanks woot for doing this again, I bought 2 more for family members!

USB is always, always 5v, so you'll be fine, I use mine internationally all the time. Heck you can even make a charger out of an Altoids tin and a battery. Most adapters should also work internationally with just a prong changer, instead of a full blown voltage converter.

People of earth: The color of the zune would not be a big factor if the item was successful. Therefore it's just poop of another color, the circle remains complete.

I would happily buy it if the Bonus Travel pack was part of the deal, and not this FUNKY buy 2 to get one travel pack. STUPID since I only need one!!
Maybe the next round of this will actually include it? I'll wait and see!!!!
