Oh yeah, the Christmas shopping for the kids is complete. I've had a black Zune for a year now and I've always been completely happy with it. The kids are always claiming "dibs" on it if I ever get something else, and now they won't have to. One each for them, a third one for the lovely wife, and a bonus pack of stuff for the family.

w00t (mit zeros).

I agree... these are perfect for this time of year, great gifts.
... and it looks like, even though they keep appearing on Woot, there' still alot of people that appreciate the return... they're still selling.

What a rip!!! You know, if I would have bought my Zune at any other retailer the the price dropped $15 within 30 days like woot did, they would offer me a price adjustment!!!!!

I bought a black one about a month ago. It took me sometimes to charge it up and it wouldn't charge with my laptop though it gets 500 mA output. I finally charged it with my desktop using the USB on the back. However, the unit was completely discharge without me noticing it while it was just sitting there. Then I tried it again, it's really hard to charge up (not with the laptop or an external charger), it finally charged up overnight with the desktop. Then I left if for the day and looked at it again in the evening, the battery was all discharged. Then it wouldn't charge at all. It's dead. I talked to Microsoft and they are sending me the UPS box for return and repair. I am stilling waiting for the UPS box to show up. I hope it will be fixed. An iPod is definitely better and there's a reason so many people have them.

I'm glad to see that, despite the repeated efforts of a few to shout down those who bought multiples in the past with personal attacks, new members keep posting to make the same request.

Again, I'm not interested in getting any price credit - I just would like to get in, somehow, on the travel pack deal. Even just offering some at a woot!-ish price on sellout.woot after this deal runs out would likely satisfy.

Woot's really shooting itself in the foot with these super-rapid price drops. What's next, $60 + free travel pack + a/v pack? $50 + free travel pack, a/v pack, dock and remote? A 4-pack of toasters plus free SnacDaddy for the same price that you paid for one, a week later? (Okay, that last one may be going too far. )

But seriously, why buy? Why not wait? Especially now that they seem to be giving up on the "keeping previous customers happy" effort ...

I sure do wish everyone would quit crying like a little, hungry baby. If you already bought a zune, ahem, a at a higher price, YOU OBVIOUSLY THOUGHT YOU WERE GETTING A GOOD DEAL OTHERWISE YOU WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT IT (unless of course you are irrational). Two things, 1 - you more than likely have already "used" your "price difference" (the amount you bought your zune for minus today's price) on the zune you now own. 2 - if the price difference is a big deal, find a way (eBay, newspaper, raffle it off, etc.) to sell your zune (that you previously bought at a great price) and buy today's zune. The people that have bought the zunes that were $15 more - get a life. You freely spend more than $15 on unnecessary luxury items every week (McDonald's, one meal at a restaurant, coffee shops, drugs - cigarettes or alcohol, WoW fees, the list can go on and on). And NO, woot does not have to offer you a price rebate. They are under no “moral” obligation to do such. Do you go to Wal-Mart and ask for a coupon when a price break occurs on an item you just bought? No. So why do think woot is obligated to do so? Enough with my ranting. Pull up your britches and get over it.

No, this clarification is similar to "Order 0 Zunes and get None" except add one to both sides of the equation.

Got my black Zune in the VIP sale (or was it the wootoff) and I like it better than my old iPod. Mine, like most, came in excellent condition with no problems. I think the Zunes are a great deal, regardless, but if you woot and you're happy with the deal--why drive yourself crazy looking at future deals? Will we see Zunes again at a lower price? Probably, but then you might as well wait until people are giving them away on craigslist if you want to make sure you get the best deal.

as posted many pages ago:

Snapster wrote:we strategized about raising the price $20 and going back to collect more money from previous buyers, but someone said that was the wrong thing. it's so confusing.

really, the write-up tells the story. see those links? with capitalism comes nasty little things like competition and price pressure - such horrible forces you know. maybe we should include a bucket of sand - people could stick their heads in it when temporary price erosion occurs.

I'll add the additional clarification that Woot is not a manuacturer and hardly sets pricing in a void. It's humbling to be considered as wielder of such power, but the pressures of the market unfortunately affect our own inventory that we need to sell. This is the perfect storm of media player discounting. If you bought one before, the price today does not affect your value anymore than these going for >$100 on ebay once the market dries up will. Zunes are not stock certificates.

You should definitely consider waiting if you don't need one and you fear a future price drop more than you fear a deal disappearing. That would be your primary job here.

Actually, I found a car stereo for my wife online at Circuit City, the online price was cheaper and the brick and mortar store matched the web price.
A couple of days later I decided to get the same model, looked online (to print the price to be matched) and it was $10 cheaper, so I went in, got mine at the cheaper price and a $10 (+Tax) refund on my wifes.

So YES, I expect a refund (or something) form a price drop at a store.
In fact a lot of stores have a 30 Price Match guarantee!!

I could care less about the refund/coupon whatever for those of us that bought them two weeks ago. I would like the option of purchasing the travel pack at a reduced price since I bought multiples last time though.

Then everyone should buy only from the list of "a lot of stores" that guarantee price matching and not come to woot expecting something for nothing.

To all the whiners get over it, thats market forces for you. I paid $99 for mine, am I pissed thats it's now 85 sure but thats life. Having said that I think It would be nice to offer those people who brought 2 or more Zunes prior to this sale a coupon for a cheap (not free ) travel pack for say $20-30

Knowing WOOT, if they have the Travel Packs available for this deal, they no doubt have a bunch available for the rest of us. They even hint at it with the Belkin power saver offer. The whole bit about buying accessories...

Be patient, they'll be selling all the other stuff soon. If you don't NEED another Zune, wait fro the separate deals on the Travel packs, A/V packs and whatever else....they're coming...wait and see.

This a great opportunity for Woot! to eBay profits. The average sold price on eBay over the past week is $115-$125 at 66% success rate, depending upon the seller's feedback score. A few even sold above $145. White has a slightly higher end price.
See completed sales of Zune's on eBay.

This page shows how many watchers there are for each listing. http://www.esellerstreet.com/search.php5?keywords=microsoft+zune

I would sell immediately to catch the Christmas rush.

It would be incredibly generous of Woot to offer the people who bought 2 or more Zunes in the past to chip in a free travel pack with their next purchase... maybe make it a coupon code. That way, they're guaranteed repeat business, and us early adopters get rewarded with free zune-cessories to squirt around with.
