seen this one before... went pretty fast, if memory serves... surprised there's more left... good deal... peeps like the zune... lots of peeps... right?

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

So tempted, but happy with my Archos. Still, for something that outclassed the same-generation iPod in every way except third party support, these Zunes have been a deal on Woot for a long time now.

Since you gave a rebate to the people that bought at $150, the least you could do is throw in the travel pack for those of us that bought two at $99.

BTW, the Zune 2 firmware upgrade comes out Thursday.

i dont have a pmp device at all. i dont see the point, my moto q can play music and movies. i was thinking of getting one of these cause it just seems cool, but i dont know when i would use it, i am either working and cant use it, in my car and dont need it or home where i have a tv.

can someone please point out some ways one of these comes in handy? i am sure many of you have my reasons for not getting one, so maybe you know of ways these will be worth it.

also were they selling the browns new or refurbed for $79.99 recenty? i could care less if its brown.

also they should have DEF. given a gift pouch with each one, then i would have def. bought one regardless, this two crap is bull.

Keep the Zunes coming! At some point I'll saturate the world with my longing and the Zune will be mine!

If there are so many refurbs, does that mean these are crappy?

I'd like to jump on one for a Christmas gift.

Just a quick warning. Or maybe I just have bad luck.

I have a Compag Laptop, Mobile AMD Sempron, Processor 3300+, 795MHz, 384 MB of RAM.(just listing system info)

Anyway, I got one of these about a month ago. My laptop didn't recognize it, let alone charge it. It would just flicker from dim to bright, kind of like an old light bulb that's about to give out y'know? Called Zune support, did some troubleshooting, they figured it was the Zune and I sent it out. I got my new one in the mail, it did the same damn thing. Called again, and it looks like I have a rare case of "mylaptopsucksorjustdoesntlikezunebullcrap-itis". In this rare case, the laptop couldn't produce enough outlet power through the USB ports to charge or recognize the Zune device. So if you have a Compaq laptop, and your system info looks similar to mine, think twice about this purchase. I was so dissapointed so I thought I would save someone the trouble I went through. But if it works for you, good for you, sucks for me. snort!

I, like many others, bought to soon. I got the brown one. Could have gotten the black one and paid less. Really wasn't in any hurry either. I'm using it as a Christmas gift, should have waited.
I don't really like this offering the same product each week at a different price. If I wanted a different price every day I would go to Amazon. I expect one great price on woot, no matter how many times they sell it. Lynn

I love my black refurb (rox0rz!) I got off here. Except I paid $15 more and got no travel pack. Come on Woot, hook up the guys that previously bought.

Hmm, should I buy another now???? No, because they're just going to get cheaper. Got fooled twice now with these and not going to do it again. Still have the two I bought before all wrapped up waiting for Christmas...should have waited.

I got the poo brown one a while back for eighty bux.

In my opinion... as a former iPod owner... the Zune software is pretty crappy. It takes a little longer to figure out (vs. itunes), but it gets the job done. The Zune itself is a bit thicker than my old iPod and the buttons aren't all that great.. but you can't beat the low price of the refurb (rox0rz!) Zune.

I'm still waiting for Rockbox to come out with a build for the Zune. I hope Woot still has Zunes for sale when this happens. I put Rockbox on the Sansa player I just got from Woot and I'm diggin' it. It keeps my podcasts all organized and I can play chess or tetris on it too.

djp952

quality posts: 2 Private Messages djp952

It's tempting, but I'm so happy with my little 8GB Sansa and nobody I know needs an MP3 player for Christmas. Besides, I already woot!-ed a 2GB Sansa for RockBox tinkering, there is such a thing as MP3 overload.

Maybe when they hit $69.99 (which one can assume they will rather soon). The travel pack is kinda cool, and SO CLOSE to a deal sealer.

i'm still gonna get it...right?

i bought a doo-doo brown zune when it was $79.99.

NEVER regreted it, it was one of the best buys i've made in a while, AND it popped my WOOT Cherry.

if you need any software utilties for it, i would suggest going to the ZUNE websites, and reading the tutitorials.

they have links where you can get encoders at the officail microsoft websites, so you don't have to BUY the software from other software companies like i ALMOST did.

BTW...on httpL//sellout.woot.com they have a nice extended battery pack i would highly recomend if you plan on watching as much deconstructionist propaganda films as i do on these little jammy-janks.

night.

i feel cheated aswell...bought one black during the super secret vip sale, and then a black and white one later on. i feel like a travel pack is deserved for the people who purchased zunes prior to the deal, and would qualify for the free travel pack now.

I understand that prices change but this is kind of irritating, the people that bought the poo zune got a special code. some of the people that ordered a poop, got a black and a kit. I wooted the white from sellout and I get nothing.

I have to say, each time Woot! puts these things up, I want one a little more. But I already have my iRiver H10 that I bought here a year and a half ago, and I only use it occasionally. Must resist!

Not without Boot Camp/Parallels/VMWare. And at that, you'd be stuck with using the Zune software. If it's anything like Windows Media Player (which for some reason I have to use for transferring my Rhapsody-To-Go tracks onto my wooted Insignia player), then you'll have a much more rewarding experience by smashing your head repeatedly into a large box of nails.

Let's face it. You can't beat the price here, but what you save in $$$, you'll more than make up for in headache. Unless you find torture a rewarding experience, stick with your Mac and an iPod.
